Walrus_Rider Liked a comment about Feature PASSION PROJECT - Vital Rides the Digit Datum
4/6/2023 5:21am This bike is sweet. I was apprehensive about the proprietary shock but not anymore. I'd love a shorter travel full 29er version. Maybe 120 rear with 130 or 140 front and similar geo to the Datum.

12/16/2022 10:22am These are great points. I was assuming full live broadcast for all of the races.

12/16/2022 9:29am I think this sounds awesome! More racing and more tv opportunities. Seems like a really good solution to keeping (and expanding tv time) for up and comers, while making the final smaller.

12/16/2022 9:26am LOL. To everyone saying "two runs GASP this will lead to more injuries" or similar cmon. This is an area the sport does need change. In most other forms of "short form" racing, the athlete will race multiple times at an event. Be it skiing, moto, or even track and field. I think this is a good thing. Consistency is important! Also - take moto for instance, not only are they racing multiple times in an evening (SX) but they race week after week after week. Its so much more exciting.

Allen_Gleckner Added a comment about feature TESTED - 2023 Santa Cruz Nomad V6
12/1/2022 8:01am It seems like those light tires are a big reason the bike is as light as it was for testing (which y'all liked), but then say it should have more supportive tires. Can't have it all. Also, what carbon rim are you referencing that broke before the test? Curious just because it's nice to be able to reference different rims against each other. In this case, rim [X] didn't hold up as well for the tester as the Reserves. Since there's no standardized strength metric, these comparison examples are pretty helpful. thanks!

10/14/2022 3:51pm This a friendly reminder that there's a lot of horrible external cable routing, too. I've had noisy and rattly hoses and housing, I've had a rock chop my downtube-routed external brakeline in half on a road trip ($70 for a replacement Shimano hose from an LBS, ouch), I've had crazy rubbing and paint wear from cables, I've had below the BB routing (booooo), I've had a bird's nest of cables at the headtube, and I've had 10 foot long derailleur housing because the cable is seemingly routed on every tube of the frame before it arrives at the rear derailleur...

10/14/2022 3:51pm Fully external routing: fine. Internal routing, guided: fine. Internal routing, unguided, with large entrance and exit ports: also generally fine. Internal routing, unguided, with small entrance and exit ports: not fine. Through the headset: fuck all the way off.

10/14/2022 3:50pm If it’s internal, all guided. No excuse if it’s carbon (Looking at you Pivot!) If it’s external, do something slick like GT’s Groove Tube or GG’s hatch. Though I’m not the biggest fan of the dropper entering the same side. Also, routing cables under the BB needs to stop. Like 10 years ago.

10/14/2022 3:50pm The only internal I care for is to have my dropper enter at the bottom of the seattube (no collar-mounted actuators please)

10/14/2022 3:50pm I can live with internal shift and dropper cables.. Better have the internal tubes so everything goes easily.. If not, external done right is just fine by me..
