8/1/2019 7:47pm I pedal. Some might say I pedal too much. This sounds super douchy but for reference I usually log about 15-20K of climbing per week. This bike time is usually spent on an enduro bike, being those are the only bikes in my garage this year. Reach measurements over the last few seasons range from 465mm to over 500mm (edit, not 525-500mm). Guess what? The top tube (and reach) of the bike is basically insignificant (within reason; compared to the standing fit). I can make a HUGE range of sizes work when going uphill, and I'd wager I'm not alone...

4/23/2019 11:06am Good luck with that. Your next bike will have a different bar diameter for some reason and will need a shorter or longer length.

2/21/2019 10:09pm First off great review. I have both of the bikes tested plus an HTLT as well and would echo your experiences in climbing. The Evo is very underrated in this area and it absolutely crushes the climbs. I find that the steep seat tube means that I don't have to fight to keep the front wheel on the ground which takes a surprising amount of energy and core strength. I constantly laugh at people that say slack bikes can't climb well. It is all about the SA, not the HA. Regarding descending, my experience does not mirror that of Brines...

1/13/2019 1:28pm I've been discussing the theory of this product with some my customers who are interested in potentially buying one. I think the real challenge is putting it on the right frame. Because the headangle doesn't change as much through the stroke, you don't need a slack front end. If anything, a longer stem and steeper HA seems like it would provide better action. It seems like it was tailor made for bikes like Evil Following, Pivot 429 Trail, Tallboy, etc. I know they want to sell to as many customers as possible, but Trust saying that it will cover travel...

1/13/2019 1:09pm From my little bit of hands on experience with the fork, the article is spot on with its claim that you can instantly feel how handlebar inputs are completely separated from bump inputs. The traditional “parking lot” test will throw you off the first time and make you think that there is WAY too much air in the spring. If you try to push down on the handlebars it will feel noticeably stiffer than a traditional telescopic fork. But then put the front wheel against a wall and all it takes is light pressure (even using just two fingers) and...

11/24/2018 3:36pm Hit and run driver destroyed my face 2 years ago, so almost all of my off road riding is done with a full face (Bell Super 2R.) Since its been 2 years, it’s time to replace the Bell, so I appreciate the feedback from those who have tried other light FF. As to the impression given while wearing a FF on trails that I have ridden multiple times on a singlespeed CX bike, I would rather not risk the compromised structural integrity of the front of my head, but that’s just me. I do feel like a doofus sometimes, but...

11/24/2018 3:35pm Thank you all for the great info. After reading through the comments, I'm definitely leaning towards the TLD Stage helmet. I looked into Leatt's turbine tech and from my web research, wasn't terribly impressed. It looks similar to 6D, but instead of the turbines being between two layers of foam, it sits directly on your head. Comparing that to MIPS, I would feel more confident with MIPS. The comfort issues with the Proframe were a deal killer for me. I was leaning towards the Super DH as well because I liked that fact it has a dial system for that...

11/24/2018 3:34pm I don't think wearing a full face makes you any less of a man than the next. Getting stitches on your face from a low speed fall is not only annoying but is expensive. The same could be said for those who wear eye protection or not. It baffles me that so many people ride trails and road without wearing something to protect their eyes. I don't know about you, but I need both my eyes to function proper in order to make a living. I'd rather not risk my eyes or my face to a fall. I risk enough...

11/24/2018 3:32pm I've had/have the following helmets in this category over the past few years: MET Parachute Bell Super 2R Bell Super 3R Giro Switchblade Bell Super DH Fox Proframe Also a Giro disciple (regular DH full face). Thoughts on each: MET Parachute: very comfortable, light weight, very goofy looking. Poor chin/jaw coverage, still got face rash when crashing with it twice before I totaled it. Bell Super 2R: loved the removable chinbar, great helmet. Needed to pull these plastic pads out of the inside to make it fit. No huge crashes, wanted a more secure feeling helmet for Enduro racing so...

11/24/2018 3:32pm My main lids now, are A1, Stage and D3 for when i've got the V10 on DH trails. Yeah, I work for TLD and worked on the development of all the said helmets. But, speaking honestly, I thought the Stage would be something i'd use rarely...I figured i'd go open face, or my D3, didnt think id need an in between helmet. So, as we got to testing the STAGE I needed to get some miles in it....actually liked it and used it for more rides than I thought. The weight (light) is what got me hooked, I have a...

11/20/2018 1:39pm I'd check with local service people and see what you can actually get serviced. If you can't fix or get parts for a Cane Creek or Ohlins easily in Portugal I wouldn't go that route. Everything breaks eventually.

10/16/2018 5:06pm glad my project makes you curious =) you mix 2 things… I was rolling on my dh-bike all the time. Doing this, your pedal force needs to be equal at any time, to keep the crank-arm in a horizontal position. So you are not able to shift your position on the bike by putting load on the front or rear pedal….. So from a mechanical point of view, you stand on the bb-axle anyway
This brings me even to a big downpoint of the crank-arm-setup. The rear leg is bend all the time… (the maximal force it can resist...

10/8/2018 9:38pm Of course Sam Hill can still win at WC DH, what sort of stupid question is that? Just to prove how stupid of a question it is, he will qualify for the Mount Saint Anne Worlds and spank every other rider like a gimp during the Sydney Mardi Gras whilst he is mounted on a Shawn Palmer replica M1 with cracked head tube, V Brakes and flat tyres.......while riding the bike facing backwards and doing a shoey!
