Agreed. If I got this bike the first thing I would do is swap out the shock. I think Specialized got it right with the Ohlins coil on the Kenevo.

Always found it interesting how a lot of Ebikes spec out the shittest rear shocks - they are heavier and doing more runs - so a prime candidate for something with decent oil volume to keep the dampening consistent. Weird.

hi, nice bike how you can compare this bike to ypur N4? speccialy on rough and steep terain? I have also N4 and thinking of MT but wondering if the MT have the same margin for errors and can go head to head with Nomad on rough and steep trails. tahnks in advanced and enjoy your bikes

So far the megatower feels more stable than the nomad charging through steep and rough stuff, the limit is when there are sharp corners on extremely steep faces. I'd say in that scenario the nomad has a slight edge. Straight line speed on the MT is nuts and the bike is noticeably more composed through chunder than the nomad, especially with the coil shock out back. They both feel similar in the air, although the megatower is slightly easier to pop and more playful feeling overall, at least in a straight line. The Nomad is better suited to being an...

I was out riding and ran into a Dad on his E'-bike and he had a strap and was towing his son (on a 24" F/S bike) up the hills..I thought it was pretty sweet.

Ya & with the difficulty of YT parts / warranty claims. Not sure I'd buy a first generation carbon e-bike from YT when Specialized is in the same price range with years in the ebike market.

I'm behind what Jeff was getting at. Bikes are fast. Fast things scare hikers. Motos scare hikers. Which one is more scary? Depends on what people in certain areas are used to. P.S. They are still heavy.

I like it. I still don't quite understand the hate for e-bikes. I mean, I understand the argument against them and I'm willing to concede that they are technically "motorized cycles," but to compare any e-bike to a true motorcycle is a big stretch, at least in terms of power and destruction.

The AMA is the appropriate governing body and GNCC is the perfect series for e-MTB events. Makes more sense than the UCI in my opinion.

The margin is shared between Specialized and the retailer with zero risk to the retailer. It seems to me like a slightly more efficient way to purchase Specialized products but without the services and personal experience that a shop provides pre-purchase. Curious to see how many more purchases this will lead to vs. going to or simply calling a shop to place the order with the exact same shipping times, but I guess this is where the retail environment is headed and they're obviously doing it for a reason.
