So here comes what will probably be a thoroughly confusing and contradictory reply - yes, your rebound can definitely be too fast and some rebound control is very important. However when I set up a bike it might feel quite fast and hit some high numbers in data too. "packing" or the perception of packing can be several things- spring rate too low - rides low and there isn't enough spring force to return to a reasonable ride height too little compression damping - wheel compresses too far which either dives or overshoots the bump, then has to travel farther...

I've had these grips on for 2 months now and here are my thoughts. 1. Skeptical at first touch. I thought the rubber compound may be a tad too tacky for durability. 2. Two months later, I don't really notice the grips anymore and like saddles, that's a good thing. I haven't experienced hand fatigue. 3. As initially noted, I felt the rubber compound on the main surface area was on the gummy side. Sure enough, two months on, the area where the junction between my thumbs and forefinger rests on the grip is showing abrasion and wear. That's a...

My name is Luis Arraiz, I am a frame design engineer and specialize in bicycle vehicle dynamics, kinematics and geometry design. I was the founder of K9 Industries Ltd in 2005 in the UK. I worked at CSG (now Pon) from 2015-2023 where I was responsible for the geometry, kinematics and packaging for all the full suspension bikes both analogue and e-bikes for both Cannondale and GT bikes and also several GT hardtails. I introduced the concept of size specific geometry and kinematics for Cannondale dubbed “Proportional Response”. I am now back to the UK, where I am a senior...

In theory, if your pinch bolts don't ever slip then the torsional rigidity added by the axle would be a function of OD and ID. All the hex buys you is the assurance that it can never slip.

I personally hate everything Warner Bros has done with DH, but not having a clear and direct path for Gwin to be able to race is possibly the most egregious.

Im not disagreeing that there is enough people close by but I'm saying COMPARED to Snowshoe where you are immersed in the event all weekend your lodging is in walking distance to every single event for the whole weekend, you can walk to multiple bars and restaurants, concerts at night etc. Is a lot more enticing and valuable to most people looking to make a vacation out if it compared to having to stay 20 minutes away and drive to and from what is basically a empty mountain in the middle of a forest. Hardcore mountain bike people will go...

I understand but that but its just not a great venue when compared to Snowshoe, which obviously they didn't go to for one reason or another maybe Snowshoe didn't bid on it this year.

I want to take a moment to thank Darren from Push, who has a small business to run, for taking time to weigh in and educate mouth breathers like me about what's happening inside our suspension stuff that goes up-and-down. I've learned a ton from reading so far. Thanks, Darren!

Watched a guy at the Monster Pro DH in Cat 1 snap his top tube ripping through a 90 degree berm. Irony being he didn’t realize it. I heard it clear as day & was telling people around me “I just heard his bike snap”. He hits the 3 flat hucks Neko built to “break test frames” & on the 3rd one the down tube made a crunch sound & that was it. Said he’s had it for 2 weeks. JRA !

It seems ridiculous that this is something they won't consider. I can't really think that a 5-person podium would have any influence on someone wanting to tune in to watch if the rest of the product was really good. But the downsides to the riders are real, and have a measurable impact on bonus money. Their unwillingness to consider the rider's concerns is very upsetting.

gonna play devil's advocate x1000 here about levo speeds with the explicit mention that i don't care if anyone anywhere buys one, i would NEVER buy one (who has nearly 5 figures to spend on a bicycle with or without a motor???), i'm painfully aware of the wrench this class 3 stuff throws into trail advocacy, i fully expect 87.69% of levo owners to be rallying illegally in class 3 and i fully expect downvotes to go skyhigh, but... i own a toyota yaris (maybe 97mph top speed). a mid-life-crisis guy in a neighborhood down the way owns a ferrari...

Totally non scientific, but after a couple of very light trail rides I’m liking the Trutune in my 2021 36 factory 160mm. At the bike park I couldn’t get near the last 25mm of travel with correct sag for my 220lbs. I haven’t had a chance to test the travel yet, but the fork is much more responsive in small bump compliance with the Trutune.
