Lugged rear end. Probably just testing a different stiffness / length for the rider. They wouldn’t do a major change after just releasing a new bike…
The Phoenix has a reasonably short rear end iirc. I think Dylan Maples was testing out longer rear ends to make it more similar to his previous Commencal.

Linkglide is the only e-bike appropriate drivetrain at this time. Which is sort of amazing to think that SRAM currently has nothing to truly compete. Linkglide/ Di2 is also the only e-bike appropriate drivetrain that can be hardwired to an e-bike motor, the Bosch.
Still, what exactly did you think would happen running a 2.7 hp motor, on pavement with such high traction, in top gear on a bicycle cassette, and probably at speeds well below 20 mph so likely at a low cadence?
After working on a open reservoir akin to hope's brakes that definetly is messier than the cup, I still prefer the reservoir. There is gunk and old oil that does not escape the system unless you flush with copious amounts of oil.
The bleed was super simple too, as I just pumped the oil from the caliper to the lever.

Sounds like a manufacturing flaw in that cog, probably a small one that isn't super common.
I had this happen on an XT cassette on my analog bike during the final stage of an enduro one time. Luckily it was the steepest stage, but was still very sketchy as I had no idea why I lost drive. I was dumbfounded when I put my bike in the stand later and only counted 11 gears still in the chat.

I say it all the time: 12 speed is just not meant for ebikes. Zero problems on Microshift Advent MX 11 speed: steel cassette with a Linkglide chain. Same for Deore 11sp. Even then with my Shimano motor de-tuned to 60nm I only get 500mi out of a chain.
I pedaled an Orbea Wild Avinox around in a parking lot recently and am not surprised this happened in the slightest. Way too much power. It's a shame Big Derailleur™️ doesn't make a fully wireless 11sp. I've had random shorts and electrical issues on a past ebike and when the bike wouldn't turn on it was great that it just be came a really heavy mountain bike since the derailleur wasn't wired into the battery.

Look great. I bet they are great. Won’t buy them for 3 years because shimano. Just shinano’nn stuff. Appreciate that they take their time but my last two shimano brake sets were nightmares on the trail, and in the stand. I learned a lot about bad design and I learned not to rush to buy shimano - oddly like sram back in the dirty covid years. But yeah, they look pretty sweeeeeeet.

Yep, the lugged rear is intended to lengthen the rear center no anti-rise or leverage rate change according to Mr. Maples himself. Thought they might be doing something with the brake mount but I was wrong.

Based off the sales on their site right now, I wouldn't doubt the spire gets it. Looks like the spur is the only pedal bike not on sale. And I think people were so stoked on the flip chip that allowed the sentinel to go MX, I'd be surprised if they do that for the updated spire. Would also be odd and sad to move away from their CHIPS or whatever silly acronym they came up with for the bottom shock mount.

The pivot team has been ripping whistler laps and a few of them have custom lugged rear ends.
It has a chainstay length flip chip built in - shown in middle setting here.
