Has to be one the coolest and most rad one off customs I have ever seen. EVER
Mega props to Dan Roberts and Adam Prosise on this!

it was so cool to see that bike out there and for sam to see it as well!
lots of cool sundays (resto-mods and stock) in our bike check section - https://www.vitalmtb.com/community/main?keyword=sunday&frame_brands=&sort_by=changed&cat=Bike%2BCheck
this feature too from 2018 - https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/The-Sunday-Shreds-Again-A-Legend-Reborn,2240
Thats incredible - it is actually a completely custom frame right? Not a restored sunday?
Its impressive how convincing it is but looking close I can see a bunch of refinements and updates to make it modern

Take my money
Another good one: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/iron-horse-sunday-reborn-the-rebuild-of-a…
Had never heard of Garage bikes project, but they do have a nice portfolio ! This thing might ride pretty good if they've worked on Raaws, Frameworks and Scotts
https://www.garagebikeproject.com/projects
Dan also wrote the "by the numbers" series over on the other site which was probably the best articles they ever had! Its also funny seeing his portfolio lined up like that - i didnt realise he worked half of those but you can see the influence!
Thank you all for the stoke on the bike, it’s heart warming to read.
A proper fun project to do after hours. And yes, every single piece is designed from scratch to make it a modern race bike, but look and feel like the original.
It’ll be on display in Val di Sole this week if you want to come take a look.
Yes Dan and Adam!!! So rad!
So rad!
Can we have some insights? How were geometry and suspension numbers chosen?
sure but what does his wife have to say?
Incredible project to be part of, and an awesome creative escape for a contract engineer like Dan.
Dan and I have worked on many projects together, and I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time in Champery with him the past two years.
He’s an incredible bike engineer and absolute shredder. Getting to chase him down Verbier, Les Houches, Aosta Valley, Champery DH track the day after World Champs has truly been a treat.

Dan hired me to take on the fabrication side of the project. Here’s some in process shots.
Hopping on a plane shortly to go buy Dan a beer and watch World Champs. DH is alive and well 🫡
Lawlor caught up with Dan Roberts to discuss the replica. Video below complete with Lawlor's footage from the good ol' days.
Man this is such a cool project. Always wanted a Sunday, just never happened. For me, that was the premier era of DH. Vital Raw and Sleeper edits keep that excitement going for me these days.
If somehow that bike goes to production, I'd have a real hard time not picking one up.
Good times in Val Di Sole this past weekend. Thanks to the Rock Shox team having the bike on display all week, it has plenty of drool on it.

What modern replica do you want to see next?
2002 M1
Foes DHS
2004 Yeti DH9 or the first 303
2002 Giant DH Team
The Sunday looks amazing. I'm also curious to see what the kinematics on the Garage Bike version worked out to be, because for all its praise, the OG Sunday had a pretty odd leverage curve with a big hammock in the last half of travel. I'm guessing you addressed that!
Since you asked, my suggestion is that you try to tackle remaking and modernizing the old square tube Turner DHR. Everyone I knew that had one swore that it was the best riding bike they ever had, and they all regretted getting rid of it, despite the fact that it ate needle bearings and bushings from that tiny dogbone link for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Apparently they rode like a dream, and they were sure something to look at. I also challenge you to figure out how to fit a modern reservoir shock in there while retaining the classic aesthetics of the seat mast.
Here's a great example from @iraitzt in the Vital bike check section:
Dan designed the geo and kinematics as if Asa was going to put it on the podium tomorrow.
