Brendog just launched his brand-new edit series 'Roaming on 2 Wheels' with an episode from South Korea, which dives deep into the riding culture there and also offers a good look at the new World Cup track:

Erlangsen and Moir... Travel Channel viewers wouldn't know what had hit them.

Just some heads up on the World Cup this week. Lawlor is there and will be providing the goods! We'll have PIT BITS, RAW and The Weekend once again.

Awesome news that Lawlor is there. Downtime pod was speculating about whether there would be a Vital Raw or not and licking their chops at how good it should be with the fresh, loose track as it gets ridden in.

Really sad that WBD has skrewed us with their outrageous access fees.

As much as I like Charlie's output, the use of AI images in thumbnails makes me scroll on past.

Oli Clark out with a ruptured spleen. Tough start to the season for Mondraker.

Note to anybody using MTBWS TV, check your subscriptions, I just discovered I paid a whole year of both the yearly package as well as the monthly subscription (for the same access). It's obviously my fault for not paying attention, but at the same time, their system does not warn you about it at all, nor do they send out any subscription reminders or account overviews that would make it obvious.

Loic casually dropping the bomb on WynTV that the incoming Jr. to Elite riders are starting out at $200K/year

100%.

If I see AI used to replace a creative thing, I'm out.

Makes sense since they're likely going to be win/podium contenders out of the box. Certainly making finals every race, unlike many established elites.

and not only are they already really good, but you can’t afford to miss out on the next one. Happens in all the sports for a while…until there’s a few fizzle-outs and they change the rules. But our currents vets are the last actual old dudes.

Bruni cracks me up with his tactics sometimes, I can’t believe they ever work on these dudes! He’s a bigger picture guy than most but I don’t know how he kept a straight face even pretending he’s not there to dominate! Worst reverse psychology verbal sandbaggery I’ve seen dude come ON! lol “oh yeah we’ll see I’m just some old dad now oh i don’t know” 😂 if you believe that I have a magnetic speed sticker to sell you. SuperBruni as ageing dad just trying to make it out here bwahhhhhhh

Hyped.

Again I’d like to high five the non-euros, both athlete and fan alike, who are listening to the French n them feel a bit outsider. Healthy for us all and can only be a good thing.

I hate slippy slidey shale scree shit, especially traversing side hills on it, so this track looks like hell to me. Asa’s going to win isn’t he?

A fairly quick review of last year's results shows:

[Edit: A couple of forum members pointed out that I was incorrect: Bruni didn't race in every final. I overlooked that he had a DNS in the final race. I'm leaving the incorrect original comment I posted as is, in case anyone wonders what they were referring to. Sorry for the error!]

  • Only 4 Elite Men raced in every final (Goldstone, Bruni, Shaw and Vergier). They finished 1, 2, 3, 4 in final standings.
  • Only 3 Elite Women raced in every final (Höll, Hemstreet, Balanche). They finished 1, 2, 6 in final standings. (Nina Hoffman qualified for Finals at Leogang but had a DNS for finals. She finished 4th in final standings. Gracey Hemstreet started the finals at MSA but crashed and went DNF. Still, she raced in the finals.)

I’m super stoked that the compensation levels are rewarding the stars of the sport. I hope the girls are being well compensated too.

I can’t recall a sketchier track in recent time. This is going to be a good one.

This ain't no party, this ain't no disco
This ain't no fooling around
No time for dancing, or lovey-dovey
I ain't got time for that now

I’d consider moon boots if I had to ride down this track. Loose rocks whapping up on your ankles I hate that as much as anything in this sport! How do you say Kathy Bates in Misery in Korean?

For real.  Its always a softball sized rock right below where the knee pads stop.

Finally was able to watch the raw.  First off, thank you Lawlor!  Track looks sick other then the mega double a third of the way down.  Looks like people are figuring it out, but I imagine were going to see more then one person go flying off the track due to getting bucked from a case.

this is every unmaintained fire trail in Australia lol. Embrace the baby heads! Listen to your downtube get dented as you fly down at Mach chicken to an impending tuck of the front wheel.

The fire trail outside my door is literally this. It's scary!
