Very sad news, but so great that she can take a year out.
So many top woman of recent years have come and gone. Loana Lecomte. Jenny Risveds comeback. It's so tough at the top of the woman's XC. Top level racing it racing so will anything change, I fear not, but let's hope for best.
Very sad news indeed.
I dont think is that strange: he was signed as a last minute resort last year to "fill up" PFR when BK got caught offside - in the offseason - by other mánagers moving fast along WB new rules, etc and had to pick "the last items at the fair", so to speak. If this reading is correct then is understandable that BK signed him for a year open to extensión and, unfortunately, RMS didnt show any results or the slightest hint of promise - neither some sort of internet presence , etc; therefore It was only natural that he wasn't offered an extensión.
How wild it was? Main wild thing is that its after 1 year with Aon and we stilll dont have production version of En/Fr Gamux.
I don’t find it sad. I find it amazing that’s both she and her team are on board doing what is best for them at the moment. So many racers would never do this as even less teams would allow it.
I agree that this should be celebrated as far as someone doing what’s best for her and has a support network that is sticking with her. I do think that the “sad” part (though I don’t think sad is necessarily the best descriptor) would be that she’s coming off her best season results wise but clearly there are underlying issues that she’s experiencing with either burnout or mental health that have left her needing to make this decision.
Only time will tell, but if she emerges on the other side and returns to form or, conversely, doesn’t return to form but still goes on to live a happy life without World Cup racing as a part of the equation (Bryceland) then its a happy ending. On the other hand, if she doesn’t return to form and ends up plagued with regret… it will be sad. Not because she took a break but because her mental state was such that it was required. That’s a lot of psychoanalysis of someone I don’t really know, but regardless, I celebrate her decision and support of her “team” on the present.
Ruthless from the One True Unc!!!
I had ChatGPT on my phone for 20 minutes but gave up on it after it couldn’t count chocolate balls for our son’s class. Looks like I should’ve stuck with it, it’s definitely the future:
Hoping Maxwell all the best in her reset / recharge. Women’s XC has been so sick the past few years and she’s a huge part of it. Glad she’s being as honest with herself as she seems in her interviews.
Pipped by PB with the Dak and Jess to Scott announcement.
@Jason_Schroeder the conspiracy behind all the leaks! Even that screenshot, which somehow Gemini pro actually decoded (holy shit) was part of the conspiracy!
Just read the PR regarding Maxwell... Makes perfect sense to take a break and mentally reset for the Olympic grind that will be starting in 2027.. I'm sure she'll still ride a bit or do other thing to keep up a base level of fitness and come out swinging after the break.
Was sweatin’ a bit after I posted that screenshot and thought for sure there was no way it could be read. I should have known better 😂
Dak and Jess are officially on Scott DH Factory. We recorded a pod with Dak last week, you can listen to it wherever you listen to podcasts, and read the team press release here - https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/dakotah-norton-jess-blewitt-join-scott-dh-factory-b-practice-podcast
And here is the official google doc outline haha
Looks like he’s still got the monster bars on the new bike!
The pink Pants-ther!
American Dream Team
What rumours/moves are still unconfirmed?
Laurie Greenland, Dylan Maples (Pivot i've heard), Angel Suarez, Brage Vestavik, Jack Moir (assuming a brand will pick him up), Christopher Grice.
Frameworks and Unno haven't confirmed their riders yet.
I know everyone here idolizes him but it’s a strange move IMO. Scott is a notoriously French team…I hope it’s a good fit for him culturally - he seems to to best when he’s goofing around.
Listen to the podcast, he addresses that early on.
Spy shots of the new Syncros DH cockpit for Dak!
Cliff notes…?
Dak said on the new pod that he was gonna troll us with a bike in the background that Frida will be riding this year. So Frida will be on AG's setup this year it looks like. Not surprising considering they're friends and she spent a lot of time in the pits with them last season. It will be cool to see what she can do with some more support. She's been on the cusp a lot over the last few years and with less stress of logistics (although maybe a lot of PHD stress still) she might be able to really elevate.
I don't anyone here idolizes him. He seems like a genuinely good dude, and we love it when good things happen to good people.
Did Marine Cabirou leave Scott? I don't see any mention of her in the Dak/Jess announcement.
She's been on Canyon for the last year
Ah my bad.
Marine Cabirou spent the whole 2025 on Canyon.
Yea don’t know about that. It’s been said by others in the last few pages as well. For a guy that’s never won, bounced around a ton and rides a unique setup he gets more love than most. Maybe it’s the American connect.
Look I’m a big fan of Dak…but vital crowd seems to really skew towards him is all I’m saying.
She's trying to save her career, but it's written in a positive light that she's 'taking a break to recharge'. Hopefully, she will return to sport.
