Rachel Atherton says she has a big announcement tomorrow. She has been posting a bit about memories of the race venue.

Either she is commentating or she is racing…

Some of you didn’t obsess over the photos of Steve Jones testing bikes in Dirt mag, and it shows.

Sorry to derailleur... I obsessed over Dirt Mag and even got my own homemade bikes article...

I'm an armchair DH quarterback now, so I've got to toot my own horn somewhere.

Could be. The Athertons have always been registered as riders for the team and they need all the points they can get right now

Would love to see Rach roll up , kick the doors down and walk away with 100k. That would be the MTB story of the year.

I guess no matter how long you've been doing it, winning is still special.

yeah, forgot she has a gearbox bike available to her. Does anyone know if she rides a gearbox A200 regularly (or at all) or if she's decided to stay with a traditional drivetrain?

I'm not sure the "#kryptonite" comment on the post about Bruni pre-Andorra and calling riders like Bruni "old cunts" in the Theo/Monster video is necessarily "letting his riding do all of his talking".

I need to see this clip. Have you a link?

^ Yeah, I just looked at the Entries list and she's not on it. Well, I'm happy for her if she's going to have a baby. Best wishes to her.

Ideal solution was an old Archer Components shifter, but they're out of business.
Since you can connect it anywhere & assign any shift differential.
That system wouldn't be a bad idea to keep in every tool box as a bail out at races.

I have that problem too. I just finally tossed 2 old Joplin droppers that were still in the bin.

We're 2 weeks out from the whiteface race. Haven't seen very much at all about the track other than a handful of social media shots.

Yeah, very strange happenings up there it seems. Build team got the boot, or walked off? Gwin is/was involved in the build? Not test race?

They are just going down the piste. It’s a ski resort that hates bikes.

Just a heads-up for anyone who might be interested: The US Open is coming up next week, Sept. 25 - 28, once again at Killington, Vermont. As far as I know there's no live broadcast of the downhill races, although they have in the past posted highlight videos on Youtube. I'm pretty sure there's live timing, though.

This race annually attracts a bunch of high-level World Cup racers and has one of the strongest fields of racers outside the World Cups and World Champs. That's probably due to the large prize money, with $15,000 to the winners in 2024. Last year's women's pro race featured winner Nina Hoffmann along with Aletha Ostgaard, Louisa Ferguson, Anna Newkirk, Gracey Hemstreet and more. Lachie Stevens-McNab was the men's winner, followed by Dakotah Norton and Oisin O'Callaghan.

Thanks for that link. I didn't see Nina Hoffmann in the list. She's entered each of the last 3 years and won all 3. Deadline for registering is tomorrow night (Sun. Sept. 21).

Hopefully, there's a flood of last-minute elites. Looking thin on the World Cup participants right now, Brosnan but no Shaw? Didn't Greg Minaar say he was going to race this one?

On another note, life at the YT Mob seems to be getting worse behind the scenes. Sounding like riders are potentially going to need some help in the pits for the last two rounds. Oisin was out of YT team gear yesterday.

His  results haven't been great at the last 3 races compared to his form earlier in the season . I wonder if he has a deal done for next season because he doesn't seem like he's trying too hard at the moment
