What is everyone liking for enduro shorts? Something that you can pedal all day, not too baggy, some stretch. I use to like the Fox stuff like the Flexair but they have changed the fit. The Yeti Enduro and some of the POC stuff looks good and designed to pedal with including space for knee pads.
It ain’t enduro unless you got a 6 inch gap between your shorts and knees pads.

If you like to buy quality gear, sew up tears from falls, and keep it forever: mission workshop. Got my first pair years ago when a little cheaper and caught a rare sale for the second. But worth the price imo.
And the only change in a standard that could make them obsolete is your waist!
I have noodle arms and legs and was looking for fitting shorts years. Found my luck with Giro shorts and trousers. light, some stretch, zip-pockets
Tried the PNW, nice fit, weird pockets, but too light to survive many crashes.
Orbea, again odd pockets but the fit is amazing.... Not sure if the pair I was supplied are available to the public yet?
Leatt fit me like the fox did, the 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 are now my go to shorts.
Tempted to try the Chromag's, (love their pants) but I have to admit a bit put off by the price now that I'm no longer "in trade".
Specialized Enduro Pro shorts
Not too baggy, not too tight, enough space and stretch for big quads, perfect pocket placement and size. Durability is great too, I have two in rotation as my only riding shorts and they still look fine.
Bump with a question: does anyone know of any shorts that have a 15"+ inseam in a size medium? Trying to avoid excessive thigh gap, but apparently I have long femurs. Longer shorts used to be easier to come by, but now it seems like everyone has made their shorts... short.
Short shorts are a disturbing trend. My 7Mesh Glidepath shorts have a 15" inseam in medium, but I see their new version in only 14"...
Yeah, 14" seems to be the longest that's commonly available these days. I don't get it. I guess these companies think that people want to see my pasty white lower thighs.
Troy Lee- Skyline Air(13" inseam size 34) for hot weather, Sprint(14" inseam) for everything else
I like NWT3K, custom fits, lengths, and colors. Mine have lasted forever

TLD Sprint, and Leatt 4.0. Although I don't think I've ever paid more than $50 for any of the dozen shorts and parts I have, way too easy to find this stuff on sale.
TLD Ruckus shorts are the length you’re looking for & material isn’t moto thick. Call them & confirm the right waist size. They’ve varied greatly over the years but I’ve always loved them.
I’m ordering some Rapha shorts b/c I got a pair of their Trail Lite pants and 100% love the fit, material & cut.
Been liking the OR shorts
I have pretty long legs, (36” inseam length for full length pants), so pad gap is a big issue for me.
Last year I got some Assos Trail Tactica “knickers”. They fit like plain old shorts on me, but long enough to avoid pad gap. They run a bit small for their listed size waist wise, so the M was a bit snug for my 33” waist, large was better, so size up from their chart.
Awesome lightweight, super stretchy fabric. Nice wide elastic waistband yoga pants style. Good articulated cut with a high waist in back, so no plumbers crack in back.
It seems they are discontinuing them, so get them now (on sale) while you can.
Leatt Trail 1.0 shorts: hands down the best breathing and best fitting shorts I've ever owned and at $60, they cost less than half as much as my previous favs from Fox (Attack Q4). No billowing at the knees and a super-functional 3rd pocket on right thigh (only "cargo" pocket I've ever tried that doesn't bang around when loaded on the pedal). I own 4 pairs.
Same pants sizing boat here, been running Norrona Fjora (flex1 variant?) for the past six years as they are designed to be over knee, but bunch up nicely on the top of the pad for me. Don't have problems with them being hot in the summer (they do also have vents) and brunching up on the pad means the close off the thigh opening nicely preventing excess ventilation in the colder parts of the year.

Comes with a pocket under the right thigh too which I find is the best location (least noticeable and safest) for a phone.
I have some POCs that are good, every so slightly on the pad gap spectrum. I actually like some cheap O Neils that I got online. Really long without being outrageous.
Sorry to derail, any recommendations for riding trousers for a mate with really long legs?
I use Mammut softshell alpine pants, they make tall inseams that are actually 36”, not 34” like many so called tall sizes. I have them in thin and thicker fabric weights.
I’m wearing them in my profile pic.
Articulated knees and hips, gusseted crotch, everything a riding pant should be, just a bit looser around my skinny calves and ankles. Not enough to catch in my chain, but I did have my tailor narrow the calf a bit and add a zipper there.
Thanks @Primoz , those look like a nice option. I’ll pick up a pair to be a beefier complement to my lightweight Assos ones.
Four years into Abit mtb shorts, holding up great and the fit couldn't be better. Small pnw company, shorts come in two fits, and two different lengths, work well with knee pads, good pocket design, and cams to keep tight on the waist. My TLD, Fox, Dakine, Specialized, Pearl Izumi, etc shorts are all gathering dust.
These are the best I've found so far - I have a pair and they're good. My only problem with them is that they're $170, which is fairly absurd for a pair of shorts.
Specialized mostly cause they're cheap and on mega sale right now
What mega-corporation owns them now. I lose track.
Not being crap about your choice. Crappy about corporations in general.
Agreed on this one. I almost suggested it earlier in this thread because they are some of my favorite shots. I didn't because I realized they were starting to sell out of some of the common sizes (32). But they are amazing shorts, especially for 19 dollars.

Youngone, majority owners of Scott who fired the old CEO
I hate it too, but also just bought a pair of the OR shorts on sale lol
Try to catch a sale... Their prices are brutal, take a look at the Fjora Gore Tex stuff, bonkers.
Endura. Good quality, hardwearing and cheap. And decent sized pockets.
Chromag feint
I’ve been digging the Yeti Enduro shorts too—great fit and they don’t ride up. POC’s solid as well, especially for longer rides. If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, Uniqlo has some comfy options that work well for cycling, plus Uniqlo's return policy is super easy if it doesn’t fit.
