No Hard MTB League events this year due to lack of funding:
I know Felt does things outside of the MTB world.. But, I wouldn't mind seeing what someone like Cesar can do there.. Perhaps something a little more accessible than Unno..
Revel sold already?

Or the senior lender has taken ownership and installed their own CEO.
Any word on STFU? They aren't fulfilling my order that's been in the hopper for over a week now / responding to messages.
I ordered something from them a couple of weeks ago, and tracking says it’s nearby. No idea what’s happening with them, but they may be sorting out the tariffs. Definitely seems like something that would put them under.
My fanboy opinion on Felt (most bikes I have ever owned happened to be Felts): Their half-assed their efforts and they just threw in the towel.
The reason you didn't see many Felt MTBs, is because they were too split on road vs mountain. They have always been visionary when it comes to track, triathlon, TT bikes, and that's where most of their focus went. Probably higher margins.
However, I have always found their MTB frames to be great for their intended purpose.
I never did plan on solely buying their bikes, but each time I had gone looking for a new MTB, Felt was running some kind of sale. So, I kept taking the deals. My Decree 1, for example, in 2017 was a $6k bike. Felt ran a sale through Mike's Bikes that I accidentally found; half off. The reason according to the Mike's Bike employee I spoke with, Felt was desperate to get more of their bikes on trails to gain visibility.
They stopped making MTB's right before everyone went to 29s and UDH, and that make me sad because all of their bikes had unique characteristics that I found advantageous, and I would kill to try a 29er Decree or Compulsion with slightly shorter seat tubes.
Now, over the past two months, I have rebuilt my Decree with new parts and bearings. In emails with Felt's customer services, Felt was supposed to have a presence at Sea Otter Classic this year. Why they were not there, I don't know. In Cesar's hands, I am excited to see what he will cook up for Felt MTBs. IMO, a more approachable brand than Unno.
It looks like Rotor is shutting down their US office according to this BRAIN article: https://www.bicycleretailer.com/industry-news/2025/05/06/rotor-closes-u…
didn't wheeltop just buy them?
Looks like that's what happened. It's now being auctioned by Sopris/JPM...

Sounds like sram is raising pricing 10% across the board. Items from china higher. Most notable is AXS batteries iirc.
Yes, confirmed here which is worth a read if you're a follower of this thread - https://bikebiz.com/people-who-make-the-industry-a-conversation-with-ja…
Thats a great interview that nicely articulates how essential scale and specialization is, and why higher end/IBD bikes are (and will remain) so brutally expensive.
TIL that Youngone purchased Scott Sports. They're a huge company that also owns Outdoor Research along with their legacy biz of fabrics and apparel factories in Korea. I know former executives and employees of OR and can tell you that Yongone has weird AF leadership.
I feel like Bicycle Retailer reported that a while ago, and the struggles were apparent with all the CEO drama as of late.

"Britain says its new trade deal with the United States will cut tariffs on U.K. cars from 27.5% to 10% and eliminates tariffs on steel and aluminum."
British steel staying competitive? Let's goooooo Cotic/Starling/Stanton/etc.
I welded up my first frame when I was 13 from two cut-up Gitanes, and it looked just like a Cotic.
Ironically the iconic British Steel company is now owned by a Chinese conglomerate.
Cotics would be imported as bikes or bike frames not as steel. This will be good news for US builders of Reynolds steel tubed bike frames, I'm not sure if there are any in the MTB space.
Fox Factory due to report very shortly. I'll write something and post it here. May try and jump on the CC too if I have time.
Felt had a huge booth at Sea Otter. Here is an interview from their racer support tent. Maybe Felt is smarter than us, and riding the Gravel Train (This train has no brakes)
TL;DR, Fox reported and things are going as planned. No big red flags. Stock is up 9% after hours ontop of an additional 5% intraday. Management was quick to point out inventories are stabilizing and the bike industry might be voyaging into calmer waters, which frankly surprised me.
The tariff thing is an overhang, but it feels more like the overhang has to do with the potential we end up in a recession, consumer confidence/spending softens and nobody is buying stuff - they have their ops pretty buttoned up for this sort of thing (it appears).
If anyone wants the deep dive, you can find it here. https://jeffbrines.substack.com/p/fox-factory-q1-2025-earnings-quick (moved to substack by popular demand...)
USD fork hype sending Fox to the moon 📈📈📈
Given the context of the emails I had with their customer service, it seemed like they were hoping to have an MTB representation, not gravel. Time will tell. With several MTB brands closing, there may actually be some space in the market.
USD is gonna be USD if tariff insanity continues
Chaos Sports keeping RM in Canada https://www.prnewswire.co.uk/news-releases/a-new-era-for-rocky-mountain-a-group-of-canadian-entrepreneurs-takes-the-helm-302451343.html
Hopefully that means good things for @kperras and crew
Well, they'd have to re-hire (most) of the west coast team first, which... hopefully they will/already have extended offers. It was a really good team.
Can anyone with more info translate this news? Who is Chaos and do we think they’ll do a good job for Rocky as a brand? Vultures or not?
I also assume this means Rocky headquarters will stay in the east.
Still not buying any Bri*ish car ever.
I worked in the auto industry years ago for a short while, and the consensus I came to (also shared by many famous Youtubers) is that the only thing British cars are good for is paying mechanics.
A bit more information available on Bikes.com: https://bikes.com/en-ca/pages/new-acquisition-faq
Headquarters are indeed staying out East, but moving from Saint-Georges to the Montreal area.
Here's also a bit more information regarding the group of 4 new owners: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/a-new-era-for-rocky-mountain-a-group-of-canadian-entrepreneurs-takes-the-helm-302451311.html
Any impact for you buddy? I heard Montreal is nice this time of year.
Is painting of warranty parts going to be handled in-house still or do you think there's going to be a shift to the industry standard of just ordering a whole bunch of pre-painted parts? It'd be too bad if that program went away but it certainly was a bit odd compared to most. It did result in some annoyed customers (why does it take so long??) but also some very stoked customers (you mean they'll let me pick any colour out of the catalogue for my new frame??)
the nerd in me immediately thought of professor chaos
