A lot of confused people posting in this thread.

IFR for the last few years has been owned by Aaron and run by Todd Schumlick. Intense is no longer sponsoring the team, but the team will likely continue with a new headline sponsor. This will not be Frameworks.

Neko has Martin Whiteley on board to run Frameworks team with Neko, Angel and Asa signed.

Dak is on a new team, not with Aaron. This may be MS Intense, which used to be MS Mondraker.

If Gwin is not on an intense I could possibly see him on a Frameworks frame . I can't see him wanting to develop another frame from the ground up as my guess is he's probably got 1 or maybe 2 years of racing left and if he wants to be competitive he probably hasn't got the time to waste half a season riding something that doesn't work for him . Frameworks would be a lot easier for him to get something  , at least geometry wise and to a lesser extent suspension, that would work for him .

Danny Hart to take Sam Hills spot on Nukeproof .......no word yet that nukeproof racing is a victim of the chain reaction troubles and they took Sam Hill on at a similar stage in his career, could be a good fit . I hope Danny gets a ride but if he's basically going to self fund a season it would be interesting to see what equipment he chooses to use .

Hart to Nukeproof makes sense with the Adam Brayton connection as well.

Nukeproof seems to be staying with Brayton for 2024.

Do we have any precedent for former Red Bull Helmets turning into Monster Helmets?

It seems like the contract issues surrounding such a move would be pretty tough even for someone like Aaron Gwin.

Unless he maintains a sort of distant but still mutually beneficial relationship to such a team, it's highly unlikely we'll see Gwin own a Monster Energy team.

I also highly doubt MS is going to take on an American in Norton, and an MS Intense team is dumb unless Gwin puts his team on Frameworks.

It would also seem unlikely that Gwin and Dak would give up a bike they developed and could get for cheap, or even get paid something to ride, to go to Frameworks, which was developed by other riders at cost to those riders, and likely would cost the team a pretty penny.

I still put my bets on Gwin rebranding his team but staying with Intense, Dak stayin with Gwin, and maybe picking up some other USA based riders to do the Monster Energy US Downhill season.

Or Gwin retires and then I have no guesses.

I know that red bull wont hire monster rider, its against their culture. It could harm the "brand".

I also thought about the ”Dak to Mondraker” situation like this: people are talking about and MS and Mondraker as if they're the same, even if they are not; probably somebody was thinking about MS, but they actually said Mondraker, given the context that Mondraker will have their own factory team.

As a general feeling, it makes more sense to me to see Dak on the new MS Intense squad than on the new Mondraker team, but I can only wait for the official announcements, just like everybody else. Smile

Greg - On Norco for a couple of years of racing/frame development and maybe then as team manager.

Since Norco is owned by Live to Play Sports, then you can expect him to be majorly supplied by the distributed brands they sell. They are deeply invested into SRAM/RS so I'd be very surprised to see him stick with Fox/Shimano.

Those are my predictions.

if intense factory racing isn't intense factory racing because intense isn't a sponsor, that means intense factory racing is shutdown/dissolved/whatever you want to call it. even if there is a team w/ the same management/players, it won't be called intense factory racing therefore intense factory racing ceases to exist, right?

To be fair, in the road cycling world teams are talked about more the way that Bizutch is doing. The team is really built around the sport director, and even when a team's entire docket of title sponsors changes, it's not considered to be a folding or dissolution of a team. In the case that Gwin is still owning the team, employing the same staff, and carrying all of the same bank accounts, the team isn't really dissolving; it's just rebranding. Team Garmin-Chipotle was never really shut down; they lost their title sponsors and became Team EF-Education EasyPost, but the team itself was never officially interrupted.

Just to be totally fair: this is not road cycling world.

I was just thinking, with Gwin buying Windrock besides the obvious of it being an investment to make money off the bike park. He is working towards a moto style sort of training compound eg: Bakers Factory, Club MX, Star Farm. Gwin and Dak are both moto guys so they know how that works.

Whether it be training a team he's managing or being a third party other teams pay for his services. Tons of lodging on site and riding Windrock every day along with training and riding against other world cup athletes is a huge advantage.

It's not going to be a factory team. Which usually means the brand chips in a substantial amount of funding.

Gwin and Dak being without a frame sponsor would be a huge hit, unless they join Neko under frameworks or something. Why would Intense do that? Frames are cheap. Unless Gwin and team basically say "we're not riding your frames, even if free, for anything than less than $xxx, xxxx." I'm sure Gwin has some minimum number for sponsorship, but faced with no sponsorship or low price, I think anyone would choose a lower price.

That being said, Gwin retiring would be a surprise, but not unlikely. He's got a new business venture that he probably wants to focus on.

Dak being a privateer or something would suck for his progression. He's shown some good results.

Thus, I think Intense will be still be out there as a frame sponsor under some new team, likely with Dak in it, Gwin unknown.

Gwin will be on frameworks to some capacity this year.

Dak just made his goodbye post earlier and hinted to minor changes for the season to come. Which basically means he will be on an Intense and it makes the most sense to tie him to MS.

Gwin becomes Co-Owner of Frameworks Team - 30% chance

Dak stays on Intense, Intense becomes MS-Intense - 60% chance.

Gwin takes a year off to build Windrock up as a training center - 50%

After having the experience of spending the a day listening to him in his uplift bus at Descend a few times I would probably have to agree with that. Just a little bit opinionated.

Gwin has to take any money with him now, his career won't last that long.

Has anyone seen anything about Gwin's arm injury from last year? The last thing I saw left the impression it was taking longer than expected to bounce back.

I'd call it constructive criticism. The discussion was around choosing riders for a team and that the family plays a large role in how someone fits into a team. He used Danny and his dad as one of the examples.

I appreciate the hope you all have for frameworks but I think a lot of you are holding it up to be the next syndicate-esque mega team or something. This is literally a passion project that Neko started very recently. He’s accomplished a lot but let’s not start assuming every big name is headed there.

Peaty to Frameworks; Warner standing outside the pit ten just saying things about what's going on.
