Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Do they really have the uncaged thing in their DH team also? The Enduro team can chose whatever components they want, but the DH team looks different.
E.g. here are the world championship bikes from Oisin and Sian, exactly the same component brands other than the grips: https://themag.yt-industries.com/article/world-championships-2023-a-loo…
Vali Höll said in Snowshoe she is sad because she won't work with some brands anylonger. I thought she meant Rockshox/Sram. Maybe it's uncaged in 2024 and she can ride RS/Sram stuff.
MS Mondraker is saying goodbye... a somewhat reliable source this, sorry

as for now they haven't had the uncaged program in dh, but I think they'll be uncaged in 24. Why shouldn't they do it in this category as well?! Seems like it really paid off in EDR
I don't know, Vali would cost quite a bit to get onto the team and with the uncaged program no money is coming in from other sponsors, meaning that YT would have to pay for the whole thing. I don't see how the team would have this much money to throw around with Jack already on the Enduro team, it seems unrealistic to me.
Suarez confirmed on Unno.

So who is the "podium contender" for Frameworks?
Angel was on Unno last year (..?)
I'm convinced Charlie Harrison is coming out of retirement to ride for Frameworks. He has already been riding both the DH and trail bike and giving feedback to Neko.
Never mind, I rescind my comment.
I first read booger's comment as "breaking news, Angel is on Unno" rather than "Angel is not the potential Frameworks podium contender"
It's early here
I don't think that YT needs to pay for her parts like suspension etc. She'll probably get money from every big brand she'd like to work with in her current position...
I hope that's true. Harrison seemed like he was just sick of being injured and "retired" out of frustration more than anything.
He was always fast when healthy and fun to watch. Was Whiteley his agent as well?
recognize...that was an Alpine clip, not Unno...
Neko and Asa are on Fox. I can’t see Alpinestars putting this out so late in the year if the rider was leaving in a few weeks. And don’t see Frameworks being a team that riders have different sponsors. From a sponsors perspective if you are going to sponsor a team you want the whole team, it’s a lot easier to say you sponsor the frameworks team than 2/3 of the team
Maybe. It's definitely a point on your end. But I'll stand by my observation. I love a gamble.
looks more like an Alpinestars advert for their winter riding gear.
I disagree, I think sponsors are OK going after specific athletes and not the whole team these days. Less expensive, and they can be more picky. Unless you're a title sponsor for the team, it doesn't matter, you sponsor the rider.
Like what they do in Motocross and Supercross. 2023 Honda HRC had riders on Alpinestars, O'Neal and Fly Racing.
Danny Hart has been posting a few Hope deliveries and related items on his Instagram recently. Including one today.
Running his own programme and getting support from Hope?
From a workload standpoint, it is far less work for a marketing person to support a team than individuals. 1 team manager orders parts or kit for the entire team which can cover 3-10+ riders. To work directly with 3-10 riders is a lot more challenging and time consuming.
Though my experience from the brand side with this is all hard parts/components/frames rather than apparel which is a different kind of beast.
On the Making up the Numbers podcast Martin Whitley had given them a list of riders for Frameworks (about 7) 2-3 were obviously not happening. I don't recall the list but Gaetan VIGE was named and it made sense to me. No Clue but I think he is the one.
Coming out of retirement the year SnowShoe isn't on the calendar is sub-optimal, solely because he always posted top times there, whether domestic racing or international qualies.
She wanted her and Chloe on a team and she wanted £250000 she also sent this to every other bike company and they all told her ……..
Who are you referring to here? Too hard to follow when you don’t quote the last post.
From seeing that roots and rain I’d guess Bex barona given she won the ews 2nd race in oz
Hart + Brayton: The Hopefuls
250k GBP?! Sheesh.
Ami Kenyon to syndicate? With Pinkbike racing not racing next season
Ratboy getting on some fresh suspension and brakes from Formula: https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/press-release/josh-bryceland-joins-ways-f….
it's so depressing to see crazy good riders being dropped from their teams on a daily basis. Obviously the whole industry faceplanted itself and the riders need to take the piss....
This particular case is probably due to lack of results as much as industry downturn? Performance is valued etc..
