OK no worries, I'll take the opinion of one person as gospel and run with it! Whistling

It's a rumors thread, not a one person gospel thread... It's perfectly logical he doesn't want to share the source.

There is nothing logical about assuming, based off of the opinion of one person, that the ESO/UCI/WBD want to make media as difficult as possible. Especially when the available evidence points to the contrary. That was my point, my facetiousness was by design.

Thinking out loud here. Maybe ESO heard/read all the comments about how the trackside coverage by Vital, edbullmedia and moimoitv was leaps and bound better than their coverage, postrace coverage by wyntv. Possibly took that personally and will make freelance coverage like this much harder next year and heading into the future. They have already made it harder for riders who like to post their vlogs from race weekend.

I believe Todd Schumlick (IFR team manager) lives in Squamish. *edit - creeped his Insta and looks like he is now on the Sunshine Coast - a quick ferry ride away from West Van.

Sounds more plausible to be up training with him.

sadly, this is not out of the realm of possibilities for me.

I know Spomer etc know more, but, the amateurism and unprofessionalism of UCI this year has been on full display

UCI had next to nothing to do with this year's world cups. Why is this so hard for people to grasp

I'd be more inclined to go with Occam's razor. Things are likely to stay exactly as they are. The media squids like Sven often said media were very well treated at ews events. So parts of that legacy likely to continue?

When they changed rules just before XCO world championship race, yes, they show how unprofessional they are.

I agree 💯 percent. I never said they weren't unprofessional. I was pointing out that the UCI no longer run the MTB world cups 😂

Will we still be getting VitalRaw’s in the near future? From my understanding, it’s getting or will be getting more difficult for photographers and filmers to work WC races with Discovery wanting to control what media gets out.

I can only see it being harder for media at races. WB will want to control everything, team wants media, they have to pay WB for it.

Any news on the team now Vali is leaving. Would hate to see it fold. Great little team! And is Vali taking Matt with her?

They're the ones who told their riders they were gonna need to find other rides.

Would be nice if they just owned it & were proud they were able to come through in the end.

2023 // 🥵
UNION recap 👇🏼

Where to start?! We’re going to have to summarise it below because there’s way too many people and things to mention after everything this year ❤️

- First JR World Cup win for the team, from a then unknown @hauserchris_ at Round 1 in Lenzerheide. 🥇

- 6x months off with a broken back, 3x weeks on the bike and a P26 at Lenzerheide for @lachiestevensmcnab before doing a solid job on his ankle at Leogang. Plenty more to come ☄️

- The growth of little OL into Huge @olliedavis.6 🥹 All the top 15/10 results and that P6 quali in Les Gets gave us anxiety in the best of ways.

- Seeing @frida9 come back from a really shitty concussion and getting back under to speed with a P12 at Worlds 🙏🏼

- @antoinepierron5 P10 at Loudenville 🇫🇷

- P3 in the team standings. Loudenville 🤯 P15 overall.

- Too many sick @foxmtb kits to count.

- All the rad fans who bought our merch and supported the cause.

- The insane amount of hard work @jimbland_ @jthwaite46 and @baileygoldstone put in, managing the madness on the road and behind the scenes

- All the kind and generous people on the WC scene who stepped in and helped out without batting an eyelid. 🤝

Thanks to everyone who keeps the UNION program alive, giving everyone these rad opportunities. It’s funny times out there at the moment, but contrary to some of the weapons on @vitalmtb we’ll see you in 2024! 😂 👀

Big love. ❤️

Not so much anymore, unfortunately. Things were done and said and the result is a change of scenerey.

The question now is how much SRAM will be on the IFR bikes and whether it'll stop at the suspension.

it's hard to imagine Gwin not on fox, but someone seems to have more insight... i just hope he's getting another go on a full season with full health and can show us what he's really capeable.

Sounds like Danny Hart is having a hard time finding a team to pick him up.

Danny Hart has told Pinkbike that: "Right now I have no deal for next year. I have even considered doing my own thing, but with the industry being in such a bad place, that looks very difficult. 'No budget' comes up every way I turn."

WOW that would be a big move Aaron not on Fox. Same hard to imagine.

Big move if so.

Damn, that's a tough one. Stating the obvious he never really got on with the cube set up, a real shame. On his day his is a machine and certainly deserves a ride.

Going to be a tough one this off season given the state of the industry and economies in general(not trying to turn the topic)

I'd take everything on that other site with a grain of salt. They seem to work on at least a week of delay maybe more. Danny said that quote quite a while ago now. I seem to remember reading it at least two weeks ago somewhere else.

Ahhh fair enough.

I can't imagine it is easy out there though right now.

No, it isn't. I need to make some big cuts to our roster as well. It hurts.
