Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
I hope there is more to this story
Or learning how to select an appropriate shirt
Lopes brings new meaning to the term "podium threat".
Sorry to interrupt the low hanging fruit that is Lopes puns...
but Nukeproof and Vitus and seem like brands with solid supply chains, way more than what Wiggle and CRC have become. I would think these would be good assets to be sold rather than the shit show that Wiggle/CRC is?
I bought plenty of stuff from CRC back in the day, sad to see what they have become.
Hopefully this is the case for Nukeproof and Vitus, would be a shame to see them go…
On the teams side, it looks like it’s only been riders sponsored under the American distribution company for NP and Vitus who’ve lost their deals so far. Will be interesting to see how the other riders are affected
Nukeproof also have Louise Ferguson. GT have Jess Blewett
There's a bit more going on with the Wiggle CRC side of things - their parent company SSU had a contract for 3 years of funding (covering 2022-2025 from memory) revoked out of the blue at the start of this week by their parent company.
SSU owned a lot of e-commerce/retail brands in different sectors in different countries. The factors you mentioned will undoubtedly be playing a part, but their parent company are effectively pulling funding to shore up their real estate and other business ventures. Their owner has a slightly... "controversial" history for doing this kind of thing. Google 'Rene Benko' for more.
Ultimately Wiggle, CRC, Vitus, Nukeproof*, etc. could have been smashing their targets (Narrator: They were not) and it wouldn't really have made any difference as they're just a small fraction of a subsidiary company. It seems Signa Holdings owner just wanted out of their retail businesses in general, so pulled the plug with no notice.
*It sounds like Nukeproof US genuinely were smashing their targets, but they're the first aspect of the business to go entirely ironically. Hopefully all the people involved with those brands land on their feet elsewhere.
I was informed by the Nevis Range team that Volunteers for DH races would be run by one organisation contracted by WBD / ESO doing every race and the Nevis Range team have lost the contract.
Does anyone know who the Volunteer organiser for DH races next year is?
MUTN pod just confirmed that the Jess Blewitt new team rumor is untrue.
Apparently Ronan Dune is in talks with the new MS (Zerode or Gammux) Team
Hello everyone!
There are some fresh rumours from the German website
mtb-news.de. I will sum up everything.
Some rumours are well known, but there are also interesting new...
(sry for my English)
- Vali Höll back to YT
- Sam Hill to YT
- Trek factory racing: 2024 still with Reece Wilson and Loris Vergier, Kade Edwards maybe racing some events and not part of the racing team but Trek sponsored, Sacha Earnest could join the Factory team
- GT factory racing is done, Wyn Masters will stay with GT (new manager? support other riders?)
- new Intense and Mondraker factory teams
- Dakotah Norton on top of the wish list for the new Mondraker factory team
- Aaron Gwin has an offer from Discovery as future co-commentator, maybe career ending or still racing (with Intense or new team)
- MS will support Gamux or Zerode, Ronan Dunne to MS and a new team
- end of the Dorval AM / Commencal-Team, new teams for Camille Balanche and Benoit Coulanges?
- Yeti is back with strong focus on DH and a new team, including Richie Rude and they are looking for another American rider (or riders?, Norton?, Gwin?)
- Finn Illes will stay with Specialized Gravity
- Ollie Davis will join the Union team, Union riding with Trek frames next year
- Scott looking for new riders, Brendon Fairclough quits Worldcup racing, Danny Hart on the hunt for a new team...
- Propain will be back 2024, or at least 2025
Cheers!
75% correct 😂
I wonder if we will ever see Danny Hart ride a Glory again.
Gwin back on Yeti would be wild.
Wouldn't it be so strange for Gwin to spend years to get the bike dialed and then never getting to race on it. Not saying it won't happen.
Messaged him and he's all sorted for next year so wherever He goes it's all pretty much worked out. Really nice guy. I'm Irish, he's Irish so we talk as a nation. He wouldn't say where but he has a team for next year.
And on another note, Gamux are a great bunch of people. Remembered my name from Day 1 and said hello every day. Hi Gamux!
Noga Korem has some great post on the Israeli situ if anybody is political. Follow her
- Sam Hill to YT
That’d be cool.
Bex not mentioning Yeti in her insta account. Shows the Yeti changes coming and she without a ride?
Possibly One of many enduro riders without rides
Not a team rumor, keep actual world politics out of this please.
Is it possible to block members on here?
Wiggle CRC did post close to 100 M pound loss for year 2022. Not a good position to start negotiating funding from parent. Interestingly Continental Nukeproof FR did pin the new racing calendar in Instagram.

Pretty sure Scott has their roster for 2024.
Hi,
here are some interesting insides:
Ethan Craik to Scott
Valli to YT
Dunne and Pinky to Mondraker new Factory
Blewitt to Cube
Balache to Pivot
Brook, Hart & Blenki in a new Team 😂
Minnare to retire
Gwinn to Frameworks
Greg Minnaar to do another season as he wasn't happy as per Wyn TV
Danny Hart and Adam Brayton to set up their own team.
Gwinn to stay at Intense and they offer Dak an extension.
Yeti stay in downhill and offer Pinky and Valli a contract with Richie.
just wishfull thinking or is there some truth behind?
Just wishful thinking. Although on Wyn TV, Greg did say that he couldn't finish a season on a low. Maybe he has one more year left in him!
Isn't Gwin also partly the owner of the Intense brand at this point? Seens extremely unlikely that he'd move away from IFR. And if I got that right, Dak's only gripe with IFR was not so much the team itself, but his pay. If they manage to resolve that situation, it doesn't appear likely to me that he would move away now that they finally have sorted out their bike.
2024 is going to have some intense news that is going to have folks saying "woah"
Calling it now, Keanu Reeves steps in and Arch Motors sponsors Gwin and begins making all of Intense's e-bikes.
