They don't need them to be electric around here. The more it barks and flings dirt around the better. You wouldn't believe the places and the gradients they get up to with dirt bikes... And then a few hundred meters from the last dirt bike track you spook a group of Chamois when you go there by foot... -_-
Meh, Inline only on the 'RS' modes and FOX only for piggyback models. Why even bother with inline shocks?? And carbon only. And despite claims of a steeper geometry on the RS models, the geometry sheet is the same for both.

Yeah, Barel has been spotted using an EP8 equipped canyon e-bike, hopefully a mullet with similar geo to today's spectral which would put it pretty high up on the list of e-bikes to consider. That being said, you would want a decent price which Canyon (and YT/Commencal for the matter) seem to be moving away from. I guess if you sell out of all your stock, why bother selling them "cheap". Next year's Spectral AL 29 should be pretty mint though.

the USA Canyon Spectral CF7 gets a super deluxe and 160 lyrik for 3699. all USA bikes have 160 forks...that was an email update we got a few hours before embargo lift. for whatever reason, europe has some models with 150 Pikes and deluxe shocks only but europe gets an LTD version w/ 160 fork, XTR and carbon wheels at 6,000euro. definitely feels random enough.

i'm curious too, but the line we were given was that USA wanted 160 forks on all bikes from the get-go, but it prob wasn't going to happen. then, at the 12th hour, it did happen. someone on youtube comment "europe got robbed" - haha, so funny and seems kinda true.
Depends where you live I guess, my experience with the only 2 inline shocks that came stock on my bikes in 2012 and 2016 resulted in completed failure of the shock during enduro racing in the alps. Replaced with piggy back versions and never an issue with those. Wouldn't go near one again.
A bike with 150 mm travel, enabling you some rowdiness, is, in my opinion, a bike that deserves a piggyback shock. In general. I can imagine there are lots of locations where they are not as needed, but then you should question the choice of said bike.
But I'm weird, I'd put a piggyback shock on something with ~130 mm or maybe even less travel. Because why not

Looks like the V4 Mega is the bike to have in this corona times, it has higher levels of Anti-Squad, should be perfect for social distancing.
