Content creation is not what it used to be for young, white, tatted-up bro's riding bikes. Too many of those guys all doing the same thing. It's diluted and tired.

The 'gram is all boomers now.

Do you even tiktok bro?

This actually makes a lot of sense and I think it is exactly what is going to happen.

Kenta rode XC extensively before riding World Cup downhill. In fact, he was with the British team at the Olympic Test event in Shizuoka, Japan.

With that background, I wonder why he never even tried the EWS.

Interesting scenario with Kona on enve. Anyone have more info? I wonder if Enve saw the we are one wheels last season and decided to propose a sweeter deal for them this year or if there was problems with with the we are one stuff and Kona went looking for something new

Money talks and Enve need some visible riders on their product?

Given that the WeAreOne wheels seem to be well received at the punter level I don't think it's a product issue.

He did an interview about making the switch to DH from XC as he was never passionate about racing XC.

I'm guessing he will stay on with BC as an MTB consultant or coach, or something in that capacity but we'll have to see.

Because punters put wheels thru the rigors of top WC racers, right?

At this point those e*thirteen rims under Gwin for so many years with no issues are looking pretty good.

You'd be amazed at how much better parts hold up under pros than punters... Pros know how to ride better and have mechanics to keep things running right... Your average hack doesn't have the smoothness of a pro, even on a trail that is a lot easier than a WC course.. Now, give a pro a part and tell them to break it.. Different story..

Hum...I never hear stories of punters going thru 4-6 alloy rims over a race weekend....I get what you are saying and it certainly applies to things like hack shifting, but talk with some WC mechanics about rim consumption on rocky tracks over a race weekend and that certainly does not compare to your average punter.

Back on topic: The Vital fellas seem pretty hot on Gwin's 2020 outlook. Still some Q's about who (if anyone) is replacing Moir. Speculation about this? Will his health, new team dynamics and a full year on the Intense allow him conjure up sweet baby jesus and dish out some freedom fries to the frenchies? Im having a hard time seeing anyone touch Bruni's and Pieron's current pace....but a healthy and confident Gwin might be dangerous.

Are bike rumours ok as well as rider rumours? Instagram screenshot of the new sender linkage... looks like it connects to the top of the down tube through a tunnel in the seat tube rather than connecting just under the seat tube/top tube junction per the previous model.

Total speculation: he moves to Cube with Remy.

Not a Santa Cruz for Lew Buchanan 🤷🏻‍♂️

The shock position is far too high for being a Megatower (he said few weeks ago he'll ride 29" in 2020).
He’s running Vittoria Martello tires. Almost looks like his old Ripley frame from the color and shock position

According to his IG he still riding for Devinci but not the Devinci/Unior trade team.
Bummer cos he was really getting up there and looking confident. Hopefully he can still get to most of the world cups and get some privateer funding.

The best screenshot I was able to take from the Canyon Sender. It definitely looks like they are rolling on big wheels. Full Fox suspension (49 in the front and a DHX2 in the back). I personally do not see major changes on the frame or on the linkage. So either Canyon only did minor changes or the FMD crew is still running the race version from last year which has been modified to run 29er wheels. ...but the paint job looks sick in my opinion, love it!

Remark: Canyon posted a teaser yesterday and hinted an announcement on January 17. I assume that they will introduce the updated or new version of the Sender on this day.

Was anyone able to take a closer screenshot?

Canyon were testing 29” version of the bike after Leogang, I’m pretty sure I posted it on here then but got lazy so here’s a link to a German page that shows it.

There must be a new slightly tweaked bike on the way as even last season Troy and go we’re still running vivid shocks something that you couldn’t even buy after the deluxe came out the year prior.

Tks for your inputs. I am aware of this article. So bottom line I do not expect any major changes to the frame and linkage design. The bike has been introduced in 2016, but still looks like a modern DH bike - also in terms of the geometry. Mostly likely they only modified the bike to run 29er wheels. It will be interesting to see if they keep the current 27.5 version or if they will only offer a big-wheeled version.
