Interesting C-Dale pulled the plug w/ that new rig they have over there. Is it just me or does the mtb division of C-Dale always seem tumultuous?

Dunno if it means anything, but he just posted a story where he adds an after-market link to his Megatower, and he mentions that doing so voids the warranty.

Cannondale was just doing dh for the exposure according to the guy there I talked to on the lift at Thunder one day. They are firmly stuck in quiver killer mode. He was a bit shocked that people were still buying dh bikes and waiting for them to actually sell one again. If they are that clueless about dh, I doubt they have much of a clue on anything else dirt that isn’t xc.

I feel like the DH bike was an engineering exercise to help develop that new Enduro bike that's been spotted.

Wouldn’t be shocked if cdale debuts a new enduro team headed/coached by Jerome Clements based off what I’ve heard from Cannondale reps and riders in the Northeast

Fabio Wibmer off Specialized, William Robert off Commencal. Seems like everyone in the freeride/content world is moving on.

According to the distributor in my country, the bike was just a prototype to develop the new enduro. It will never make to production.

Just keeps getting crazier...wonder if 'content creator' isn't carrying as much weight these days?

Everyone is off everything... Expect a firework of announcements in the new year.

Fabio either to Trek, Canyon or YT?

not so sure. i think a lot of ahtletes will end up with no contracts whatsoever. either brands realising they don't bring that much value or their sales are down already (can be temporarily oversaturated market or first sings of recession)

i wasn't paying attention last year, but i don't remember that kind of carnage. correct me if i'm wrong.

That is exactly what I am thinking...Maybe people are realizing posting 'rad' stuff to Instagram is kinda tough to monetize.

if there is any million-dollar rider out there, it's wibmer. his project vids are bonkers (concepts, quality, riding and views), his vlogs are consistent and do well, and he's a trials showman, engaging w/ uneducated crowds, face-to-face, at demos and shows. i hope he can get anything he asks for. he deserves it IMO.

(note to soccer moms and dads in MTB - if you want your kid to make any kind of actual living riding bikes, send them to trials school : )

Deep pockets are definitely needed...leaves us with a small number of possible brands.

I guess quite some money (and riders) therefore will be shifted to mopeds in future.

Also - do those old school freeriders still sell bikes (to new user groups)?

I wouldn't disagree w/ you there Spomer, my comment was more aimed at the lower tier sponsorship deals. I would say however, I think Semenuk is worth more than Wibmer...

To clarify, the Cascade Component link only voids the warranty if the frame fails in relation to it. A customer called and asked SCB, and that's what he was told. Lengthening the rear-center adds enough tire clearance for the travel increase. The fact that it's increasing progression also means its less likely to bottom out with correct spring rates.

These thank you and goodbye posts sure do seem contractual.

I feel badly for riders who just want to ride and race but who have to keep up social media views and follows as well.

Then again, it opens up new ways of making money outside of competing.

i didn't think you were saying wibmer wasn't valuable, sorry if it came across that way. i agree w/ you about the mystery of lower-tiered deals, too.
