8/18/2024 11:25pm 100% Agree. Imagine walking into your local bike shop wanting to update your aging mondraker enduro bike. - Hello, I'm looking for a new enduro bike. - Ah yes, take a look at this Foxy. - No, sorry I must not have been clear, I want an enduro bike, like 160mm of travel, not a trail bike. -Foxy it is! Oh well, we call it the superfoxy now and it is 170/160mm. -Oh ok, sorry I didn't keep up with the name changes, but can I still get a Dune? -Of course sir, right this way, 170/165mm hard hitter, beautiful...

8/18/2024 11:24pm I would add that part of this is also that the major evolution in the last 2-3 years have been in ebikes, which this forum is relatively hostile towards. Generalization and hyperbole incoming: take a 2021 ebike and compare it to it's 2024/5 variant, it will look better, have better geo, better integration, more range, more power, lighter... Take a 2021 MTB and compare it to its 2024/2025 variant, it's the same bike but with headset routing, no rear derailleur routing and maybe some minor reworking of front and rear lengths or suspension curves barely anyone can feel.

8/7/2024 12:38pm Wow, that's crazy. I thought the U.S. has been off the gold standard since Nixon in '71. Oh wait, I don't think we're supposed to get into politics here.

7/25/2024 2:21pm You know what's really super awesome? When the SC bikes do finally get released like this, we'll get ANOTHER 5 pages of people rehashing the same points ad nauseum.

7/24/2024 8:50pm Anecdotes are not data and it sounds like I'm in the minority but I got mine in April of '23 and installed it and set it up myself. I've put 2,500 miles and almost 750k' of descending on it and and haven't touched it since then other than to check torque after the first few rides. I swapped the chain out for an XX chain at about 2k miles. It's been flawless and I have beaten the ever-loving crap out of it, the skid plates on the mech are a little ragged-looking but that's just cosmetic. (In case it's relevant...

7/24/2024 11:08am So this is where I probably sound like a hypocrite, but the open source software world is something I've been fascinated by and slowly changing a lot of my computing to free/open source alternatives over the last few years for the same reason. Linux has been my main OS for 2 or 3 years and its awesome, but a little strange that the bar for an enjoyable experience is "being able to use my computer without microsoft constantly trying to f**k with it and extort money from me". It's not perfect, but I feel a little happier knowing I can...

7/16/2024 1:57pm Thanks Sspomer, Has anyone noticed a real change recently from open mindedly discussing/presenting rumours and innovations, to endless posts about "opinions as facts" on the topics? Maybe its just me, but I felt like this thread used to be more open to ideas, and just seeing cool things, and I'd like a return to that. These new things arent for everyone, and not every product is meant to be the perfect fit for everyone, which is friggin great, we should want diversity in the marketplace, shouldnt we? I feel like we have strayed from that recently.....

7/3/2024 2:28pm Im so utterly baffled by the comments on the Stumpy Its not a proprietary shock, its simply only currently available on the Stumpy, give it a hot minute, and I bet you'll see it available.... Its not exclusively running Fox suspension, as there is an Ohlins model available....Which should mean that both coil is acceptable, and pretty much any other shock will work (might require an appropriate tune) Mullet is an option on S3 and up sizing.... simply buy some stick on cable guides and run whatever you want on it. All of you "cry out" for external routing anyway...
