Perhaps they enjoy working on their bike so much that they designed thru headset routing to provide themselves with hours of enjoyment to perform a task that'd usually take a few minutes. Or maybe they're just sadists?

Sometimes I wonder of the people designing bikes out there have ever wrenched on a bike. Then I sometimes wonder if they even rode a mountain bike seriously...

It´s for low speeds and not for real mountainbiking. Weird that they put it on the Spectral which is a bike you have to pedal yourself. This will end up on E-bikes SUVs which are delivered with Fox 36 or 38, Magic Mary 2.6, 160mm of travel but are solely used for commuting or to go to the beergarden on sunday. Fits in nicely with the dropper post which is soooo helpful at red traffic lights and with the new ABS braking helpers. KIS allows you to text on your phone without problems. Or as someone else put it on...

Not gonna judge the performance till I try it but gonna call bs on the “maintenance free”. Nothing on a mtb is.

Great comments from TMac. I'd be livid. You have to put the riders first when you are dealing with mother nature and the consequences are this high. You have to have an agile enough production to go "we were going to do ____ but now we are going to do ____" I know this is an unpopular opinion, but Rampage to me (a freeride "outsider") feels pretty indistinguishable from the year(s) prior. Its all so unrelatable to me, and the judging seems so...weird. I struggle to get into it the way I can get into a WC race (or season)...

More than merely "one of the two owners" (although there is a third owner; the son of the other founder and inventor of the drink owns a tiny percentage such that neither of the two founders owns a controlling stake), Dietrich Mateschitz was the impetus behind taking the drink to the west and turning it into the advertising and sponsorship company it is today.
