Completely disagree. I was absolutely gutted that Finn and Jackson didn't make it through, but it's just a testament that the level of riding and competition is absolutely crazy these days (particularly on the men's side). Like, on any given weekend, anyone in the top 20 could be on the podium. This has been one of the most exciting seasons in memory, BECAUSE there aren't any guarantees or sure bets.

Another vote from me for never ever bringing back protected riders. This way is so much more interesting. As a hardcore Canadian DH head, I was bummed Finn and Jackson didn't get in, but that's racing. The fastest guys on the weekend qualified. Having all the other Canadian dark horses get in made it extremely exciting. As far as the track marking goes, you go outside the marking, its a DQ. Simple as that. I think it's safe to say that the first year men's Elite racers lived up to the loftiest expectations: Three 19 year olds in the top 10 in the World Cup standings (Asa 1, Max 4, Til 9), with wins in 3 of the 8 races so far. (And Tyler Waite is 22nd in points despite only racing in 5 finals so far.) I really believe the 2027 women's Elite newcomers might be similarly impressive. I expect the crowd to get a bit worse as the word spreads that this is a weekend to attend. Similar as to what happened with Crankworx at it's peak when a significant portion of the crowd were not bikers or there for biking. This weekend felt very "core", and therefore both respectful and animated.

Aletha Ostgaard goes 1st in women's Seeding at US Nationals by almost 4 seconds over Kailey Skelton, with Maylei Leaneagh in 3rd. Wyn, would be great, they really need to sort the commentary out, its absolutely abysmal. Ric talks some amount of absolute pish, and they really need to be on site and have at least one of the commentators going round the pits and speaking to the riders in the run up to the race and be able to offer some interesting insights.
