5/7/2026 11:52am I know there’s a difference because it’s harder to control with bikes, but why is it such a big deal here when people unlock their hardware? I can drive a car faster than the speed limit, too. It’s the driver’s responsibility to follow the rules. If they don’t, there are penalties—or they lose their insurance coverage. It’s true, though, that we as humanity are apparently generally unable to exercise restraint at the moment. I think it’s illusory to believe that anyone will regulate themselves. As a personal experience: I still think my Unno with M1 is great. I don’t need...

5/6/2026 11:13am The change is that the new coding tools are also available for the firmware authors. Sure, the attackers can find flaws, but the firmware authors too. And they are in a much better position since they also have access to the source code, as opposed to the attackers that only have a black box, and thus are somewhat limited. I...

5/6/2026 9:55am Longer term, I suspect the entire hardware package becomes crackable in the same way the tuner community has been cracking ECUs for decades. That likelihood only goes up as AI models get better at coding, reverse engineering Maybe, maybe not. Modern models are available for both offensive and defensive teams, and it will be stupid for sw/hw security designers not...

5/4/2026 10:14am Thank you all for the interest in our bikes and in our distribution / sales model. To give you a bit of context, we’re currently a team of 9 people at RAAW, based in Germany, and we ship worldwide directly from here. The US has actually grown into our biggest market after Germany, which is pretty wild considering that every RAAW in the US has been shipped individually from Germany. Our goal is, of course, to make the ordering process and ownership experience as easy as possible. Having stock in the US would be ideal, but that comes with a...

5/3/2026 11:33am Wouldnt that weigh an obscene amount and make the wheel weird on any speeds? My moneys on lightweight stem protection I mean, it just looks like it's a cushcore or similar foamy stuff just wedged between the spokes to protect the valve stem:

5/1/2026 7:53pm Along with not being called out for causing any incidents (so far), I mean the dude has a single finger for braking and beat hardtail guy by ~90 seconds. The rider that took the longest to cross the line was... Dak. As far as I know he caused no incidents to other riders all weekend. It seems that the true issue causing problems in this scenario wasn't necessarily the bike type, how many fingers you have, or how many times you crashed... More so what resides between the ears. And how you can use it to safely navigate a course...

5/1/2026 11:50am I think one of the largest "We're not in Kansas anymore" moments I had when I began working for a component manufacturer after years in bikes shops was when I had the insignificance of aftermarket sales explained to me. Don't get me wrong, every brand worth their salt is going to support aftermarket product bc why leave money on the table, but OE sales are king in the bike industry and ultimately OE sales drives every design decision. SRAM gets to push the convenience of full SRAM spec by limiting cross compatibility. For brands like Canyon, Specialized, etc., who are...

5/1/2026 11:41am doesn't this track feel 1000 percent way more interesting? I would actually offer, it reminds me of racing at home, in Port Angeles, where the tracks were cut, opened and bedded in over a couple of races until we really knew them, then whammy! the crew would give us a fresh cut the next year. absolutely made for stronger race craft, more compelling races, and way more interesting spectating too. I think that having wide tracks opened and burned by the racers, with generous taping really leads to better racing. sure a bike park speed fest with massive hacks at...

5/1/2026 11:39am Raw makes for a much more even playing field. Only thought would be to have more Pro non-competitors test ride the track a few weeks in advance of race weekend to confirm safety.

5/1/2026 11:39am What's the point of a new track if the goal is to burn it in like a well known track already... Now, gap jumps up top with nearly 90 degree corners before them and exposed to whatever wind or thick air is siting up top... That's another poll but you probly don't even need to make it.

5/1/2026 11:37am Grassroots pioneerism that leads to someone breaking into the sport and getting a good result is what I care about, and I would argue what most of the community cares about. He's not participating in the event to race and improve his riding in the hopes of getting to the level where he can compete at the top, to him it's a fun little exhibition.

5/1/2026 11:36am I'm not going to cast too much shade on Hardtail Bro. I will, however, cast plenty on the mixed messaging and policies of WBD/UCI. Their implied goal has been to raise the professionalism and elite nature of the sport. Simultaneously, they've allowed a racer to use a hardtail to compete. This is inconsistent with the way they're supposedly pushing the sport. I also will cast a little shade on our community. We've bemoaned the loss of grassroots accessibility to the World Cups while also bashing hardtail dude, who represents just such grassroots privateerism. Dude managed to navigate the red tape...

5/1/2026 10:32am It looks like 3 sets of brothers qualified for Finals: Pierron, Alran, and Mallen (Juniors). I have no idea if that's ever been done before, but it's kind of cool to see. I'm guessing they all had good support from their families when they wanted to grow up to be bicycle racers. And maybe some good genetics to start with!
