nah. Cushcore is the only way to support those things if it's really the tire one wants to run. Around here we call em the EXOonooooooo for a reason :-)
I finally tried this and it took no time. I was just barely able to do it without removing my brake caliper. Fork feels better, and I think the total time needed was maybe 5 minutes. Feels like cheating, and I don't know why this would be a bad idea.
Great list, Jeff231. I totally agree. Beyond those products, it all becomes tuning the parts on your bike for your personal preference, like bar width and angles, bar height, stem length, which brand of pedals you're comfy on, which saddle you like, tire inserts if you want them, etc. And those items aren't really about "upgrading" as much as they...
"Since I wasn’t excited about the options that were available to me, I decided to design the parts myself." So I decided to design the most boring looking components I could.

Eliot is one more person in a round chorus of black voices who've expressed that what happened to George Floyd wasn't unusual or surprising, but is a normal and tragic part of black life in America. If I'm hearing their message correctly, that...
I can see where aren't going to get anywhere here but just out of curiosity, why do think that the improvement you would like to make hasn't been implemented already?
I don't touch on the 30mm vs 27mm topic but I did just follow my initial Vital review with my own. The rim has lasted since launch till now (almost 3 seasons). IMPRESSIVE. Whatever you pick you are getting something you can have for a long time, so (like the scene in Indiana Jones with the Holy Grail)...chose wisely
I prefer 27mm rims to 30mm rims, but Shawn's point is valid- the 30 will be a tougher rim. As far as WT tires being "Better matched to wider rims," that is 100% marketing gobbledygook. I've mounted non-WT 2.5 DHFs to wide rims and to narrow rims, and I've mounted WT 2.5 DHFs to wide rims and narrow rims. I...
