9/24/2019 10:17pm Most of the top riders are. But the stress and racing of the World Series season is what they are talking about. I have a suspicion while they will be racing for gold and stripes next weekend there will be a a few more beers, Gelato and Spritz's consumed over race weekend.

Yes, popular belief (and my belief) says that suspension anti-squat is 100% related to chain growth. Suspension squat is about force vectors, and chain growth is where the "anti" comes from, as chain growth resists the rearward weight shift. Please link to a graph or image or explanation if this is wrong.

Anti-squat and pedal kickback are two sides of the same coin. More of one, more of the other. If you want a bike with 100% anti-squat so it "pedals better" you will also have a bike with pedal kickback when it goes through bumps.

I actually think it's about stack height. The old Fox 36 (pre-2015) had a big tall crown that was 10mm taller at the steerer tube, but never creaked. For the new fork they made it shorter and it always creaks. With larger front wheels (27.5, 29) they're really sensitive about stack height. If you think of a fork as a gigantic lever, a taller fork/steerer interface with more overlap adds tons of stiffness and strength to resist that lever arm with very little extra weight. It's all aluminum.

There is a dumb conversation happening here. You can build light easy-to-break frames out of carbon, aluminum, or steel, and you can overbuild bikes so they hold up to years of abuse using carbon, aluminum, or steel. The better question: Is there a big performance benefit to buying carbon that warrants the $800 upcharge? I think the evidence from Loic Bruni, Sam Hill, Amaury Pierron and other aluminum bike race winners is: no.

1.8" steerer tube because those extra 10kg on those ebikes affects front flex more than variation in rider weight...Not like you couldn't just go for a dual crown either, eh? Who are these idiot engineers? Do they think we are complete morons?

Big huge YES YES YES to the new 1.8" head tube standard. I've killed the CSUs on the last 4 forks I've run on my 160mm 65* head angle bike. But what the heck is up with some in the industry thinking just e-bikes need stronger forks? Idiots. Stronger drivetrains, yes, e-bikes need more beef. But slack trail/enduro bikes going hard is why we need stronger forks. 15 extra pounds is nothing. Speed, jumps/drops and head angle stress is what's killing forks. MV^2.

E-bikes and Enduro racing are the best things to ever happen for heavier/harder riders. Everything else in the industry is designed for 5'8" 165-pound riders with an intermediate skill level. Yes please, I'll take a double order of E-bike forks, brakes, wheels, and drivetrain, thank you..

Wish everyone would have given the race winners the limelight as they won instead of the overall. Danny's run was mind blowing and he won it in that last 50 foot rock garden before the left onto the fire road like I said it would be decided. That is the hardest chunk of rock to get through. Whoooo hoo!

@slyfink, that's not a thing. Reach for descending position = reach for descending body position. Enduro and DH bikes are both optimized for descending.
