It is irresponsible for Vital to promote these bikes to its readership. I bought a hardtail in my late 30s. Now I ride only at the dirt jumps, surrounded by 15-year-olds, wearing jeans that look like they could be my wife’s. It is no way to live.

Its almost like e-bikes will force companies to make better products for new age trail abuse, instead of reproducing the same shit year after year in a different color and making consumer believe its better than last years option's. Or maby not.............

Very true. On the topic of ebikes, i think that 17kg ultra light ebikes are a false economy. Yes the light weight grabs headlines. But take a look at all the spec they have had to used to meet that weight. XC weight weenie parts do not belong on a 17kg 6 inch travel bike.

I think when you're spending $21k on a bike, you don't care that you can have 4 bikes and some trips for that price. You can have all that, too. Ain't nobody shaking out their couch for quarters to buy this thing.

New trek bike is a high pivot,idler speed machine. Rumour has it the French rider who will get to develop it needs to get some space from a certain Yorkshire chap. Trek riders have in their contracts that if they become a world champ as a trek athlete they must be offer a contract extension/new contract, Reece was super close to looking for a team.

I did have that thought as well, the LTS Fury does look like a far better bike, but I also wonder about team setup. Anneke seemed to fall off on the GT program as well, while others like Maes and Wyn have really succeeded in the program. The Athertons had a pretty successful bout on that Fury

Awesome! a few years ago i updated a sugar team issue for a friend's kid to ride, the thing was so ahead of it's time! After drilling out the housing stops, adding a dropper, hydro front brake and good tires, 1x1O, short stem and wide bars, I would say it rode just as well as any pr "modern geometry" bike. It's so cool to see a platform like Vital showing love to a "recycled" ride!

Typically 2-3 hours. But it's more the rides I would never even consider on an enduro bike. Before going electric, 15km and 600-800m climbing would be a good day out. Now it's 30+km. Actually battery range is my biggest limiting factor. (500 watt hours) I've done a few 50+km adventures to spots you would never consider taking a bike, real off the beaten path trails to amazing lookouts and scenery. I will be first to admit, my fitness level isn't exactly top notch. But the eeb allows me to go on rides with my buddies who race EWS/Elite level, stay...
