I'll give that a try, I've always just shoved bar plugs in there and hoped for the best, just started keeping the flaps down with RTV when they inevitably bust out, working well so far! Even with the nickel in there they'll still be the cheapest and best grips money can buy.

Awesome! a few years ago i updated a sugar team issue for a friend's kid to ride, the thing was so ahead of it's time! After drilling out the housing stops, adding a dropper, hydro front brake and good tires, 1x1O, short stem and wide bars, I would say it rode just as well as any pr "modern geometry" bike. It's so cool to see a platform like Vital showing love to a "recycled" ride!

Nothing lasts forever...however this frame outlasted my full suspension which I have broken twice while riding it less frequently. New is not the answer. Getting support from an awesome local brand who understands that those who like to find the limit will also find the limit of the equipment is the answer. I'm sure somewhere out there someone has also broken a Shan or two, they do look sweet though. Peace

The timing of this is kind of weird, just broke her last week. Ended up having a shattered crankset a few weeks back that RaceFace fully warranty replaced with a NEXT R. Then while getting ready to bring the bike to Wydaho bike fest I found that my seatpost had become quite fused into the frame, Upon further inspection I had cracked the frame at the seat tube and seat stay welds on both sides. The frame is currently back at GG, waiting to hear from them about how they are going to go forward but they have been nothing...
