If you look at their whole line and how they touch geometry over the time, it's a painfully slow process. Canyon was never a progressive company when it comes to geometry and I think one reason is who was buying their bikes in the past.

11/30/2020 11:28am My favorite winter tire combo has always been running the same tires I run in the summer. Right now I'm on an Assegai DH MaxxGrip front and a DHF DH hard compound rear. Works a treat.

Short bikes, strong rear wheels, heavy springrates. It is cool to see the difference in riding style whit the longer bikes. So much more in control with being in the center of the bike compared to changing their weight that much around and to the back of the bike.

Yes, kind of... they have someone who specifically makes it for them, but it is a known option, that you have to specifically ask for. The trunion mount is so deep into the frame nothing else works without some modification. It was a bit of an up charge, but well worth it to run the ohlins nice and clean.

Second! I know it’s area dependent but a max terra grip tire will last up to a month under heavy use. Dry climates the compound is not very important for a rear, imo. I got a dual compound dhf(dh casing) and it’s been amazing for a rear. I believe they just discontinued this tire unfortunately.

It is irresponsible for Vital to promote these bikes to its readership. I bought a hardtail in my late 30s. Now I ride only at the dirt jumps, surrounded by 15-year-olds, wearing jeans that look like they could be my wife’s. It is no way to live.

Its almost like e-bikes will force companies to make better products for new age trail abuse, instead of reproducing the same shit year after year in a different color and making consumer believe its better than last years option's. Or maby not.............

Very true. On the topic of ebikes, i think that 17kg ultra light ebikes are a false economy. Yes the light weight grabs headlines. But take a look at all the spec they have had to used to meet that weight. XC weight weenie parts do not belong on a 17kg 6 inch travel bike.

I think when you're spending $21k on a bike, you don't care that you can have 4 bikes and some trips for that price. You can have all that, too. Ain't nobody shaking out their couch for quarters to buy this thing.

New trek bike is a high pivot,idler speed machine. Rumour has it the French rider who will get to develop it needs to get some space from a certain Yorkshire chap. Trek riders have in their contracts that if they become a world champ as a trek athlete they must be offer a contract extension/new contract, Reece was super close to looking for a team.
