9/16/2025 7:50pm Thats where I store my tube, a few zip ties and pedros tire lever. I have an EDC tool, but don't trust the tire lever on it, too flimsy for DH tires. The EDC tool, EDC pump and the top tube thingy have let me move all my tools out of my butt bag and onto my bike. I'd much...

9/16/2025 7:46pm "You could put your Weed in there Man." Referencing late 80's or early 90's era Saturday Night Live. I think it was an Eddie Murphy skit. Perhaps Risse Racing, who used to make fork leg bongs and stealth Sharpy looking pipes and chillums could make a bolt on stash/pipe/lighter kit?

That quote about impact forces is wild. The takeaway that was cool for me was, you don't need the most gnarly trails to test bikes. As long as you have a capable test pilot, you don't have to throw people down a hardline track to prove anything. Which is nice to hear as most companies don't have access to that kind of stuff. So as long as a bike gets a decent amount of test time, it should be sound. Would be interesting to get this under a heavier rider who is less 'smooth' and see the differences in data.

9/14/2025 1:19pm Thanks @Full Trucker and @Primoz In due time I see an extensive number of fun things we can do. I also am kicking around a sort of Reddit-esque community based moderation system with respect to segments, public route sharing and races. All that said, none of it will matter if I can't figure out a way to really drive a wedge and get real usage relatively fast. I'm in the process of raising money now so I can really go at this and begin shipping (real) production quality code & UI. That said, here is a screenshot of me using...

9/13/2025 4:17pm Points stay with teams now. So even if he picked her up it would do fuck all. Which I know this horse is dead, buried and rotting by now, but it’s so dumb that it’s switching to teams holding points. Professional sports is such a “what have you done for me lately” industry. This now takes all power out of...

9/10/2025 9:37pm I just feel like now that wbd has abandoned the every rider gets a full run model (a decision I agree with) I see no reason for the field to be smaller on race day. If you took 60 riders from last weeks q1 Jackson and Troy make it despite crashing. All the q2 guys are in unless I missed someone. Bunch of good riders are in that just missed out on q2. Some of which looking at split times were much more competitive but had mistakes. I feel like semis was a means to cut riders to 30 full...

9/10/2025 9:09pm Have you tried the Specialized 2FO DH shoes? I actually prefer them to Adidas’s rubber for DH riding since its grippier.

9/10/2025 9:03pm 6.7 seconds, but who's counting? I kid, though I do think next year's Q1s are going to be insanely insanely competitive with the amount of young talent pouring into elites. I hope they do end up expanding the field by 5-10 riders but now I'm getting off thread...

9/10/2025 3:50pm Everyone will have individual preferences for the athletes they are drawn to as fans. But I also think it’s comical that there is so much discussion about who to root for/against. How lucky are we as a sport that our two titans at the moment are Bruni and Jackson. Both seem like incredibly rad humans who are humble and genuine. Hell, nearly everyone in our sport seems awesome (I can only think of one egregious potential bad apple and a second sour one). Have a personal favorite, but acknowledge they are all pretty damn awesome.

9/10/2025 3:45pm Mondraker splitting up their team or not re-signing anyone would be a huge mistake. From outward appearances, they all get along well. All they need is an absence of bad luck, not even really good luck and they could have three top 5/10 riders next year. Ronan is already there currently. Dak has been there and all signs point to him climbing back once recovery is complete. Pinky has shown so many glimpses of brilliance and with just a tad more development should be there too. Keep them together and on a consistent program and they are 1 of only...

9/9/2025 7:21am I find it hard to root against Jackson for a bunch of reasons: 1. He's obviously a generational talent on a bike. 2. He looks like he has fun every time he gets on the bike, whether it's practice, in a race or at the local dirt jumps. 3. (Maybe the most important to me) He seems to be stoked for everyone. He placed 16th in Les Gets and is reposting Ronan's winning run. He's almost always at the finish line, waiting to congratulate his competitors. He might be one of best riders on a bike, but he hypes up...
