StudBeefpile Added a reply to Nerding out on Brakes shall we? Not another tech deraliment
3/13/2026 11:15am The shoe thing is such a great analogy. It never fails when helping someone diagnose their brake problems that incorrect bleed ends up being the issue. The worst part is they will SWEAR up and down that they bleed the brakes properly. After going around in circles you will finally tease out that they found some random you tube video...

3/12/2026 9:49am I had a phone call with the CEO and there were no other options on the table than that to leave. Worst part was that then following that they folded the team but I guess if I had of kept racing they wouldn't have. Anyways I think it happens more often than you think I know personally of some other riders who went through the same thing unfortunately.

StudBeefpile Added a comment about feature We're Keeping the Name - Bikes: Unaffiliated Episode 6
3/11/2026 8:41pm Rather then testing that hard tail, I’d rather see you guys source a 32 in wheel and try and shove it on the front of something.

3/9/2026 4:25pm I’m being sarcastic because most the women in my family would find a documentary featuring athletes discussing “menstruation and body image” more insulting than inspiring. It’s a sarcastic comment that didn’t come across well at all in text. I get for as many women in the “don’t define me by my gender” camp there are plenty in the celebrate my gender and body camp. And again I’m pretty hopeful they’ll actually do a good job with it and it will not be patronizing. i apologize my comment came across so poorly.

3/9/2026 3:01pm Rachel Atherton had a perfect season and never got to drop in last…I think it’s going to be huge. Stoked for it. With the men down in the finish corral too, cheering their teammates on? I swear we’re all gonna cry and the tuff guys will be claiming they were always for it.

StudBeefpile Added a comment about feature Built by Vital MTBers: One-of-a-Kind, Handmade Mountain Bikes
3/6/2026 8:31am All of these bikes are sick. That said I am absolutely blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of the bikes produced by the high school kids. It is very cool and inspiring seeing you dudes throw together bikes that compete with anything a major brand offers.

3/5/2026 9:18pm Also: Ryder Lawrence, Connor Knipscheer, and Zack Harper all announced as part of SpokeX / Mondraker Factory Development Team. Assuming they will be focusing mainly on domestic racing and Monster Pro DH Series with Clay's kid on the team, though Ryder was getting some good DHI results toward the end of the season (5th at Lake Placid and 5th at MSA).

3/5/2026 8:58am Just chop an old rotor in half. Bet you have one laying around in your shed somewhere. Also it doubles as a ninja star if someone tries to break in. I have always done a "piston massage" as part of my brake bleed routine. Push pistons out, clean with a q-tip and brake oil, repeat 4x or until all pistons...

3/4/2026 7:20pm It's easy to take for granted that surgeons can magically make things better, until they suddenly can't. It's crazy to think Emil might have gone from the top of the athletic heap to not being able to walk unassisted. Completely sucks. I hope everything in his hip and leg is able to reconnect and heal itself back to a working state. If there's anyone who can put in the time and think about this process systematically, it's Emil the trick machine. Wishing him the best.

3/4/2026 11:57am They already do that at Windrock. You have to have a wristband and sign a waiver to get to a certain point on the hill (right by the Redbull Ravine and jump line there). At the DHSE last year, you had to pay a fee to spectate and get your wristband. I remember, because I wasn't trying to get on the hill until about 10 minutes before my son's run (I was packing our cabin) and then was leaving immediately after his podium... so I debated even paying, as it was for about 30 minutes total on the hill. But...

3/2/2026 12:45pm from Hans Rey about ebike development Link: https://hansrey.com/blog/ An Open Letter to the Bicycle Industry By Hans Rey To the leaders, builders, advocates, and riders who shape our industry, I’m writing because I care deeply about where bicycles—and electric bicycles—are headed. We are at a crossroads. The decisions we make about language, power limits, and definitions will determine whether Class 1 e-bikes remain accepted as bicycles—or get grouped with much more powerful machines that don’t belong in the same category. It’s time to define our language and it’s time to draw a line in the sand of when e-bikes become...
