I'm not anti innovation, but I am pro choice. Having choices removed is a step backwards IMO.

Interesting, do you know how you would know, there are no SN’s on mine? The pair I got have the bite point adjustment, which is not shown on the site from what I can see… it’s kinda hard to tell how the revs are tracked. But thanks for the heads up I’ll keep an eye on that!
Just picked up a set of Radic Kaha’s after 2 years with Dominions and I wanted to post my initial impressions for anyone that might have these on their radar. FWIW I have, prior to the A4’s, been a Shimano fanboy for 10ish years? But I’ve been fortunate enough to have ridden some MT7’s and a few different versions of...

Not to muddy the waters, but I wanted to chip in my 2c, been running a stumpy Evo for 3 years now. Killed the dpx2 that came with it in 2 months. Put a float x in as a replacement and got it to suck air after 6months. Rebuilt it a few times then got a DVO jade off PB...

(X post fromMTBR) Adding for reference, got two, both ultra soft SG and both are 5g’s within each other. Scale is accurate to a 1kg by 10g. Heavier than expected, going to be used for Mammoth and N* depending on how they work, really happy with a Conti Argo in the front and a Krypt Fr in the rear right...

I love the internet. I won't speak for David, but I do think its worth pointing out you've probably ridden stuff he's engineered (he's ex-SRAM/Rockshox, specifically a rear shock engineer). One thing I find really interesting as I get older is just how much harder it is to ascribe real correlation to an event, despite what may seem obvious. Turns out, there are often many variables to consider, and anecdotes by themselves don't hold as much water as we humans wish. In your case, I'd wager heavier/smashier riders go through shocks at a higher rate regardless of application. How much...

I know i finally got some Dominions and daaaaaaayummmm, that control but also they grab like crazy. And my hands aren't tired even on long steeps. This is coming from XT's.

About 6 pages back I had talked about my trick to reduce dead throw. This was exactly it, I was planning on writing up a power point with instructions but after spending some time up in the sierras with this done, I would highly advise against it. My understanding is that is disrupts the port timing of the reservoir and...

I took some pictures of the procedure last night I’ll try to post something up tonight or tomorrow. You can get much less than 17mm but I like the feel where I am at. I personally haven’t really noticed wandering bite at the pads wear, I’ve been through 3 sets so far about to go on number 4.

Just using the the nicer SRAM bleed kit, I'll degas the DOT 4 fluid before bleeding by pulling a vacuum in the syringes. There is a surprising amount of gas in the fluid. I'll spend as much time degassing as it takes to do the rest of the bleed. I have considered building a vacuum chamber to degas, but haven't (yet).

Glycol ether (primary component of dot 4 and 5.1 brake fluid) contains approximately 19% dissolved atmosphere at STP. Most liquids contain some percentage of dissolved atm with alcohols typically containing more. Short of sparging with helium, vacuum degassing is the most effective method of dissolved gas removal. The soda bottle is somewhat different because it is supersaturated with co2 as...
Maybe we’re measuring differently but the tip of the hook on my leaver measures 55mm from my grip statically. If I spin the tire I hear drag with the lever 46mm from the grip and the lever stops moving at 38mm. To me I would say my dead stroke is 17mm, but that’s just how I calculate it. Here is...
Ive been on A4's for about 2.5 years now, I cant remember how much dead stroke I have but its much less than 40-50mm. Are you talking about initial pad contact or pulling until the power wall hits? I'll measure mine tonight but the dead stroke on my A4's is equal to or less than the XT's on my other...

Glad I could help. Probably the only time my Polish skills will be of use beyond Polish borders. 😅 I was up on the mountain today taking in the action. Good times.

I was born in Poland, but I grew up in California....spent 40 years there. Now I'm back in Poland...as luck would have it....in Bielsko-Biała. For the past 3 years I've been riding most of the trails that'll be used at the event. Prior to that, my resume includes mostly Skegg's Point and Braille in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a run down Mt. Lemmon outside of Tuscon, and some Tapia Canyon (Castaic, California). I'm old and mostly ride motorcycles with MTB stuff peppered in here and there. Nevertheless, I think I have some unique credibility here. So if you will endulge...

That’s strange, I didn’t watch it live, not getting up that early, but watching on max was phenomenal. No issue with the audio here. Best WC track coverage I’ve ever seen in 15+ years of watching WC dh. Honestly really hoping that they keep this level of track coverage up for the rest of the year, I wish that qualifying...
