Shops who perform brilliant service will always be in demand. the ski industry is going through the same thing. And if you ride a moto, you’ve been in this world for a while. When the service sucks, you just don’t even go near it; and tell all your buds and ladies to watch out. i think it’s pretty easy to identify that customer base, as a shop owner, see your profit and loss and know what you need to do. Finding and employing good techs can be a pain, but hopefully focusing on service and crushing it can leave you...

Push nine.one is 7 days away. I have three fat juicey credit cards at zero balance waiting…… but do I wait for the vital test to come out first? Do I go all in and get a shock at the same time? New monster Sram brakes? Meh.

$599 US. A little more than half the Direttissima, comes with 4 rotors, two pairs of pads, bleed kit, rotor bag. Not terrible for high end brakes, but it would take some very impressive performance to make me switch from my DH-R EVOs.

Anytime a brand starts doing consumer direct that is the sentiment. Has yet to be the case. Spez, Trek, Intense, Yeti and so many others. Same was said when Canyon and Commencal started to expand globally in consumer direct. That said, hopefully shops will begin to evolve their model. How they react to more brands offering consumer direct will determine...

It looks like Competitive Cyclist couldn't wait for 8am PST. I snipped this from their website around 8:20am EST. https://www.competitivecyclist.com/sram-maven-limited-edition-brakes-ex…

Few thoughts... 1) Trailforks is a great cash flowing app. I know its adjacent to PB but its important to note Outside is likely making real money from the space. 2) I see traffic numbers all over the place for PB, but I hear they do 70-100M page views per month. Do the math on a CPM basis even running something like AdSense. When you ad up all their revenue streams (adsense, brand specific ad packages, youtube, podcast advertising etc etc), I'd guess they are doing something like $3-8M/yr 3) Expenses are relatively low, even with all their "content overhead"...

Norco is also Live to Play Sports which is one of the big distributors in Canada. I imagine the brands they carry played into the brands he could pick from

it's almost like the thumbnail in the most popular section below of the Mt Saint Anne Pit Bits is having a "oh hey look at me" moment right now. they're hollowed from the underside. https://p.vitalmtb.com/styles/full_size_1600/s3/photos/users/94/photos/… **edit - one of you cool cats embed that picture.

I would also add that it's combined with some pretty bad luck around those partnerships. It seems like Felt, Corsair, Evil, and Hyper were all kind of unable to pay what he was worth during those contract periods. I have a hunch Devinci could be in a similar position with how many other athletes they've let go this year.

Good point. Zink's been with TLD, Oakley, and Deity for almost 20 years. Not small players in the game.

As someone who basically only rides park (yeah bro) and has done so on bikes with and without water bottle cages, I appreciate not having to stuff a water bottle in the waist of my pants to stay hydrated. Bottle mounts all the way!
