Simann Added a comment about press release Specialized Launches the Phenom Pro with Mirror Technology

LOL I have three S Works power with mimic and an S Works power, all $329 which is still ridiculous but I was sold on no sores and can still feel my nuts. No stranger to splurging on good components, but $450 for a saddle is absolutely ridiculous. And frankly, I like my SQLab 60X more than my mimic power saddles so far, which is saying a lot. 😄

Just got my Ratio Flux in today, threw it on my Zeb, running 5psi more than standard and it definitely feels more linear than with the stock cap with no tokens (I'm 220 lb rider weight on a 170mm fork). Will report back when I get more miles on it. So far so good

In my opinion, no. Reducing stroke will bring the front end lower, increasing some very important geometry, the least of which is head tube angle. This may affect how the bike handles at speed. And changing to a smaller diameter fork may increase flex in the front end, or if the frame is too stiff, put more load into the smaller fork and change its performance characteristics (stiction, binding).

Simann Added a comment about press release Updated MTB HYDRO Pack from USWE

2/20/2025 4:54pm
I would much rather have spine protection integrated into the pack if you are committing to a hydro pack. I've ran my EVOC packs for years, no complaints, and frankly, the most comfortable waist belt system in the game. And having the integrated spine protection and low CG for the tool roll out is huge bonus.

Unfortunately I have to ride with my phone. Taking quick shots or answering on the fly is key. So not having a chest pocket is a deal breaker.

Simann Added a comment about product review Direttissima

2/12/2025 6:08am
Thats too funny! 😄 No doubt, your review and a few anecdotal experiences from others pushed me towards trying them out. I've tried to get a set of Intend Trinity but waking up at 1 AM and hoping my computer connection is faster than the europeans has not worked out. Ha! And frankly, I'm extremely happy with the Trickstuff product and can't find any fault that would make me move from them! I do have a set of Radic Kaha i would like to try out, but i'm so happy with the Trickstuff that I really just don't feel like...

Great input! I'm with you on that slightly more direct initial bite of the Direttissimas...it has to do with the different hydraulic ratios. Basically on the more powerful brakes the master cylinder piston has to travel further to make the caliper pistons move the same amount, which is part of the reason why the Maximas come on later - that's the tradeoff (there's also rollback and timing port placement to consider, but yeah...). Also, I'm glad you didn't have to come on here and write a comment about how you bought 6 sets based on my review and you hated...

So after this test came out I splurged and bought 5 sets of Trickstuff brakes. You can laugh, but its true. I bought Two Piccola HD sets, Two Direttissima sets and Two Maxima sets. The Piccola HD were fantastic looking, lever is beautiful, shares C42 caliper with Direttissima. But the Piccola lever was just not a great fit for power delivery with my weight. Sold those brakes. The Piccola HD would be great on a lightweight XC bike with a light rider, sub 160 lbs. I kept a set of Direttissima for myself and threw the other set on my...
