More powerful than the V4? I don't really think so, at least not in my experience, the power delivery felt really similar although the V4s feel like the power comes on a bit earlier in the lever stroke. The Maximas need a bit more length in the lever pull to get the same power out, but it's real negligible. The power out of the Maximas wasn't mind blowingly higher than the V4s I ran, not in my observation anyway. The Enduro MTB test similarly showed higher power out of the V4s, but again only marginally.

Reliability wise, these are second to none. Mine are 7 years old (C41) and only just developed a slight weep at the lever. Loctite is needed for the bar clamp, otherwise performance has been faultless. For parts, bikeDoc has everything. In comparison: Tech3 E4 needed a rebuild after 1 year and constant adjusting, not nearly as powerful - given away out of frustration. XT had random bite points and leaked at both levers after 1 year, not rebuildable (disgusting in this era) - trashed. Codes needed a rebuild after ~3 years, they can be made as powerful with braided lines...

Yeah, I saw that review recently! The longer lever blades on the Maxima's are right up my alley, some early onset arthritis has me two-finger braking now. The more power per squeeze I can get, the better.

according to enduro mtb on the brake test, Maximas and T4V4s are quite similar in terms of power and how they deliver it, main difference is the x2 price + mineral vs dot and that the ergonomics is way better on Trickstuff.

If the Direttissima are somehow better than my Hope T4V4, I cannot imagine how the Maxima must perform. My next build I may try out a set of the new Maxima.

Hey monkey, I'm sick of the Lewis LH4 hype. My Hope T4V4's leave nothing to be desired and completely serviceable for a mere $200 more. Much more power than Code RSC's, lighter lever action, all the external tool free adjustments. No worrying about finding replacement parts.

From what I understand of Trickstuff Maxima, there is no reason for bite point adjustment on the Maxima, Trickstuff has a very specific setup that generates equal distribution of fluid to each piston so that the rotor is perfectly centered between the pads. Lewis had to throw in some adjustment as their calipers do not perform the same. I know...
