3/6/2019 6:34pm Mark Wallace sporting some fun doodads at Windrock. I was asked to not shoot the fork in detail [I specifically asked first, but still...hint hint], so the front isn't shown, but it also had fun sensors. There was a freelap chip on the fork too... the Sram test camp was not messing about!

sideshow Started a new thread Stripping...Paint Off A Frame
2/15/2019 4:00pm Winter in NH isn't dialed right now, so I have the time to strip a frame of some unwanted paint. BUT, I cannot find any good suggestions for paint stripper for aluminum frames. Vital hive mind - what do you suggest for paint removal? And any fun tips? Feel free to share cool photos of restoration projects or paint jobs...

2/14/2019 8:05pm Jon Gregory, award winning Dirt Magazine designer for many years, has started a new series on instagram and its instagold. Combining his wit, creativity and skills with crayons he's sharing his great insight in to the industry... well worth a follow. 2/14/2019 7:59am If anyone is curious as to why the R9 was so revered, Antonio has some answers: http://linkagedesign.blogspot.com/search/label/Sinister%20Bikes Basically, it was super progressive and had a long wheelbase, "a steamroller" as Antonio put it!

2/12/2019 9:12pm Hey everyone! I just finished restoring a 2005 Turner DHR. I went with sand blasting the frame-set. I couldn't find a super safe aluminum paint stripper and was affraid of the acid pitting or worst, weaking the aluminum. I used glass media and it worked out really well. I'll post some pictures of my DHR project.

DSD Liked a comment about Press Release Introducing The RUNT by Diaz Suspension Design
2/4/2019 3:21pm Actually, it has been out much longer than that. I believe we started working on the RUNT in 2012. The first RUNT was designed for the original Lyrik. We have had a lot of set backs and a lot to learn along the way that have delayed it. We have been selling them locally for a few years but we were not ready as a business to do a national release till now.

2/4/2019 3:20pm Aside from the spring rates on the above graph? MRP basically created an air spring damper. Their cartridge has a small hole on the bottom that is backed by a needle. When you turn the adjustment it preloads the needle making it harder for the air to pas through the hole. The downside to this is it makes your spring rate speed-sensitive. This means you will have different spring rates based on the speed of your fork compressing. For example, when you are cornering your fork compresses much slower than landing a jump or drop. MRP does not help with...

1/25/2019 3:18pm Read the press release... there is no more Robot Bikes, the whole point of that company was to showcase this technology, not the other way around. So, Robot is no more in that they made their statement and now they are taking this concept forward with Atherton bikes.
