Ouch, the geo hasn't changed much if you size down. This shock location offers superior performance... (Trust me I would not have released it if it didn't!) in a stronger package with lower center of gravity, there really is no area where the performance does not improve. If your reasoning is purely due to aesthetic reasons liking horizontal shock, then fair enough, that will always come down to personal preference... but these bikes look so much better in real life than in photos. I'd appreciate it if wait until you have read some reviews and had a test ride before...

The bike has 10x the R&D of any so called boutique brand. Do you think boutique brands are producing multiple prototypes to determine lateral stiffness?

Absolutely. It was long overdue for an overhaul. I'm curious to see where the bike companies go in the next few years when it comes to bikes between the enduro and downhill categories. There are definitely a lot of blurring of the lines that I'm wondering if it will backfire in any way. With the Enduro and Demo from Specialized, Nomad and V10 from Santa Cruz. and while they don't have a DH bike, Yeti's 12345 approach with the SB series almost seems like the companies are investing too much in too many options. Weird and expensive. For every enduro sold how much is going to that ridiculous video? On a unit to unit basis, its more than $1. Over produced. Next to no riding. The story sucked. Give me some raw ripping and fun-having. Leave the "I hope I get to produce the next Stranger Things" video reel to your Vimeo page.

I am on the same page. You would think that MFG's as large as Specialized would be able to offer better values than small boutique builders but that is not the case. How much of what you would spend on say an S-build goes to support the massive amounts of dollars Spesh spends on teams and sponsorship?

Look at the middle to bottom of the Masters results and then realize all those guys and gals would likely have the KOMS on all top local and wider trails. Then go back and look at the top pro times. Allow the jaw to drop. The top pros are truly on another level. Very far end of the talent spectrum.

I love any MTB bike or parts doesn't matter aluminium or carbon, I just don't understand that hate for carbon. I think only Commençal and Specialized are alu and all others top DH bikes on WC are Carbon or full Carbon. Amaury bike is alu with carbon rims, bars, crankset.. imagine how advanced is the alu on Loic bike... don't like carbon? just don't buy it.

It's bikes. They will go fast under fast people. Having ridden both a 29/27.5 and a 27.5/26 I think they ride fine.
