RAAW addressed this issue by using modular dropouts. They first did it with their Yalla DH bike which has now trickled down to their Madonna v3.2. This is what the DH industry might head towards to accommodate UDH. Also can we take a moment to drool over how the black and silver SRAM design works with the RAAW frames 🤤

Alright - this is the first that I will entirely admit did not cross the idea board. Solid thought on that one. 10/10

Really don’t get the dumb dislikes on the previous post, the black ones ( I got 3 all in full black with the last 3 warranties ) are the latest stock apparently, and after some torch inspection no, there’s no extra seal around the pins, so they will keep failing with moisture staying trapped causing the spring to corrode or something.

Nice, thanks. The Eagle 70 crank also comes with the regular 3 bolt chainring interface, so we have a selection of chainrings. The chainline is 55 mm, but I think that is with 3mm offset so you can get to 52 mm with 6mm offset as you said in a later post. Cheap availability of 155 and 160 mm crank...

Yeah I mean, I guess you could probably play around with the bb spacers or put a 6mm offset chainring to get 52mm chainline if you really want. I believe wolftooth sells a 6mm offset chainring

I feel like this is also very worth to mention. The new crankset comes in a bunch of different lengths, and is very reasonably priced. Instead of buying some aftermarket €500-1000 crankset, here you get both a chainring and a crankset with built in bash guards for sub €200 euros. Might even be good for people or shops to buy, and just let people run them as test cranks in the shorter lengths. https://r2-bike.com/SRAM-Eagle-90-Transmission-DUB-Crankset-55-mm-Chain… Edit: Forgot to even check, the Eagle 70 crankset is just about €100, available in the same lengths, with a chainring. Seems like actually a VERY...

what about applying it drunk the night before a ride, spilling half the lube on the floor then wiping the excess off the chain with a rag which is my current go to method?

Slight deviation from 1vs.2 piece calipers, mechanical transmission, and Giant's terrible naming...But you are all lubing your chain wrong Wink RotaLuber has started making this interesting oil applicator tool that disperses oil at the link pin and roller. They did send me one, and it works well with little fuss or mess. I wouldn't say it's something I can't live without now (I've haphazardly lubed my chain the same way for years, and things have been fine), but for those who want the right tool for every job, this likely scratches that itch. From RotaLuber: RotaLuber is designed to deposit...

I guess for E bikes that makes sense for some people. I tend to drive on salty roads to get to trails so I swap cables pretty frequently when they get sticky. Personally the beauty of bikes are that you can accomplish everything with a mechanical system that I can work on at home. I'd rather spend an hour fishing cables through my frame (or better yet using external routing on 3 out of 4 of my bikes) than re flowing solder on surface mount microcontrollers or scraping off corrosion from battery contacts.

Easy and consistent push button activation and very easy/quick move between bikes are the advantages of going wireless. No maintenance on the cable, but the need for charging the battery as well as replace remote battery instead. The cost of going wireless is exorbitant. A post connected directly to the main battery/controller on e-bikes would match a cable actuated dropper...

To maximize drop, the stack height needs to be as low and the internals as compact as possible. The battery on Reverb AXS has had problems with contact to the rear tire on a few frames when bottoming out. A different solution might solve it, but probably not with the current AXS battery.. The solutions of the new and less...

I have edited my post and removed the shudder, so now I can get an upvote ;-P I know e-bikes are contentious and can sparks long discussions, so let us keep that out of this rumor thread. (I will still stand for my opinion.) I love than we have a proper rumor thread and look forward to finally getting mechanical...

The battery will likely add to the length of the post, and could be a show stopper with the current trend for the longest possible post. The wireless receiver circuitry also need to be outside metal, so placing it with the battery either at the seat clamp or the collar is natural. Relocating the battery and replacing it with a...
