New thread each year like the race thread. Pin it to the top section. Jan 1 each year force the start of the new thread and un-pin the old thread. Seems simple. Kinda scratching my head how one thread with 1000 pages is more resources than 10 threads with 100 pages. Content is content and traffic is traffic is it not?

Following a single thread was very convenient. Probably why this thread was so successful. Can we just start a single new thread - tech rumors 2025 or whatever?

I tried to make this clear in my follow-up audio note, but I’m really not trying to throw shade at @Downtime Podcast or Chris. Two things can be true: Chris is one of the best hosts in the MTB world, and the Markus episode missed the mark for some of us. No podcast hits a home run every time. Every show I listen to has episodes where I think, “not for me” or “this one whiffed.” That’s normal. And the same is obviously true for my own content. In a way, Chris let Markus make his own bed. Anyone who...

There is absolutely no reason YT can’t pull this off. I mentioned this on the pod, but Markus and YT have a real opportunity right now to rebuild trust. That only happens if Markus opens the checkbook. Sitting in a Bond-villain mansion surrounded by supercars while employees are left hanging, vendors remain unpaid, athletes aren’t made whole, and customers are told they have no warranty is a guaranteed way to tank this comeback. Vendors would probably even accept a structured payment plan (hear that, Markus? You get to keep the cars). One thing I’m certain of (mentioned it on the...

TBF he's one of only a few enduro athletes that could be making a good living. His SM presence brings a pretty solid amount of business to whatever sponsor he's got, even if he's not outright winning races week in week out.

Welcome to the first 1000th page! I'm sure sspomer will find some more off-topic posts to delete, so I'll see you on the next 1000th one, my fellow crab connoisseurs.

In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

Btw it's a business in Germany to found empty GmbH companies, that you sell to people if they need one really quickly—for example, https://www.foris.com/en/shelf-companies/se/ Could explain the random name (Mondstein 660 or so), early date and random person as shareholder/owner. Also, it was founded in Munich, and on that random website, which is literally the first in in google it says, "Our companies in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt/Main and Munich are ready for immediate takeover." Idk if it's the case, just throwing that in here.

So Markus (CEO of new company) was busy getting the new YT set up in July while Markus (CEO of old company) was busy running a 50% off online flash sale just prior to declaring old YT insolvent in mid-July. Busy man that Markus. The press release containing two pictures of the guy, one of which is in front of a "WE ARE YT" sign is priceless. Are both pictures of new company CEO Markus? Or maybe one is old company CEO Markus? It's really hard to tell.

Just listened to the Ride Companion podcast with guest Tom Isted. Was a good round up from the perspective of a 'rookie' in terms of the whole week build up, managing lines etc. He did mention that he spoke to the judges about how to improve his score for the next time. The answer: bigger drop. Why? Because the consequences are higher. I found this interesting and frustrating at the same time. He talked about how other riders were super impressed about him tricking off a flat drop, instead of 'the big drop'. So despite something being technically more difficult...
