When seals in emtb motors fail, it lets water into the main compartment and unsurprisingly the electronics do not appreciate that. So often a seal failure around the crank leads to having to replace circuit boards. Also, the same seal failures can let dirt ingress into the drive sprockets / belts (depending on motor brand) and cause destruction. Sometimes the sprockets aren't even metal, they're plastic to save weight. So when a motor manufacturer won't sell parts, it's more than just bearings and seals that become difficult to source. I agree that Shimano motors are irrelevant on new bikes right...

Not gonna lie. I saw the 75k thing (and the 30k thing that I mentioned another team floating), and I thought.. "I could just send my kid to go race with other people and probably end up saving money, but definitely end up putting much less strain on my work life." But... the whole reason we race is to spend time together as a family in interesting places doing something we all enjoy. And while it's not done economically, because we don't "dirtbag" it and instead treat most race trips more like a family vacation, the experiences are priceless... and...

This confirms a rumour I heard that due to budget cuts Joe and Lou will only be running intense front triangles. Lou will be carrying over half of her nukeproof contract and Joe is launching his new video series “The Swingarm Project”

Hopefully she was able to negotiate the salary she was looking for from herself.

I'm confused, maybe I'm misreading this, but are you complaining that a mountain biker is getting paid? Remy makes great content, his videos are meticulous, and clearly he works hard at it. I feel like this is a place where we support riders.

interesting about lourdes. originally had heard DH test event was going to be in portugal somewhere. my understanding about the event is that the new broadcasters are doing a non-live, dry run before the actual season starts. could be wrong. if that is the case, i'd imagine they prepare some kind of show from it. sure hope so. world cup heavies racing DH in lourdes? must watch. thanks @Jones_Lp for the lenzerheide schedule too!
