the OG. say what you will about so many other MTB racers but tomac is the true legend of our sport. i feel fortunate to have been able to see him race XC against tinker, overend, etc. at the original cactus cup (and watch him send 'the ledge' while everyone else was brake dragging or walking) and DH at big bear against palmer, nico, etc. thanks for the memories tomes!

This is a prime example of staying humble, working hard, and staying true to the cause. You're hard-pressed to find a lot of other well-rounded, grounded, and honest role models in sport and life in general.

I would give both my pinky toes to see a Vital Raw with Tomac! I bet he would still clean up at Kamikaze!

So good. So in-depth, so close to Sam. The edit, the soundtrack... Everything on point. Then at the end: Alex Rankin. Of course it is.

just want to say how much I appreciate this podcast series, fantastic work! Especially getting to know what drives these mtb personalities from all different angles of the industry personally and how they got to be where they are now is super fascinating and creates amazing charactes surrounding the racing scene.

Wow. Well now my bet's on another certain Brit for the win but how wild would it be to see a dual Ausie brother and sister title on home soil? I have no idea who to root for, so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the excitement! Hope Rachel heals up fast and is strong again for 2018.

What bummer for Greg wth the flat. Him and gwin just seemed on another level and would have been awesome to see clean runs from both. Hats of to gwin though. Guy's a beast

No doubt! It's crazy how the two main contenders both had a DQ and flat-tire end runs, but somehow managed to finish at the top of the field. It makes you wonder just how far ahead both would have been of the field without all the glitches they had throughout the season!

Can't, UCI still has a stupid rule requiring same wheel size front and rear. It's an old carry over from TT bikes, but there has been rumors that it may be up for consideration. I agree that 29 front/27.5 rear would be the ultimate DH race setup. The big front wheel gobbles up everything and keeps you rolling over the holes, and the smaller rear allows you to move your weight back, changes direction a little easier, accelerates/decelerates quicker, is stronger and lighter.

It will be interesting for sure. Considering she will have much more time to train on a single track (granted, that's one hell of a track to memorize), I'd guess she'll fare pretty well. IFO would not be at all surprised if she got a top-3 result.

Highly commendable to see someone at the top make a hard call like this - goes to show that WC'ers are just people like the rest of us, just way way way better on bikes! I for one am stoked to see what Manon does, as she is still in Uni and still fast on a bike...lots of possibilities!

This was almost really cool. That effect is super lame. I want to see Richie ride and maybe learn a thing or two. This is an editor making his mark in the worst way possible. HINT: When you have one of the best riders in the world less=more.

They're all worthy, for me it's hart's champery run, the legendary commentary adds to it and his margin of victory, age, and fact that its world champs in conditions as gnarly as anything I've ever seen (maybe with exception of lourdes this year, that was bonkers) puts it over the top. But again they're all beautes.
