What are the stock anti rise figures? I have heard Loic is picky with those numbers and I'm curious if his kinematic preferences are what ended up on the stock frame?

How does it compare to segment leaders V10 and Supreme V5. What riders would benefit? What were the kinematic goals and targeted outputs. How much effort was put into lateral compliance.

Earlier this year I went to People For Bikes’ Bicycle Leadership Conference. I’m not a PFB member, I don’t feel like a shill for them, but I have an in person experience which seems relevant to this: I learned that they feel that e-motos pose an urgent threat to existing routes to schools, etc. They’re still supporting new routes, but are focused on supporting existing routes - because there’s a risk that reaction to reckless e-moto users could jeopardize all bicycle access to bike paths. Undoing PFB’s previous efforts. PFB seemed eager to have e-motos regulated as motorcycles, and the...

The 8-hour training actually makes perfect sense if you think about it. If you’re going to force a 12-year-old to commute electrically assisted/throttled in a 6-inch painted gutter next to 5,000lb distracted SUVs going 50mph, they probably need Stroad-warrior level tactical training. Why build a protected bike path for $1M when you can just blame the kids for not having a Ebike Safety Certificate while they dodge F-150s?

It was an issue on the Trust because if you came down rear wheel heavy at all the initial axle path of the fork would be almost perpendicular to the ground. The effect would be amplified due to the moment arm of the wheelbase slapping the front wheel down. You could come down rear wheel heavy and potentially notice some extra feedback but you would never get the slapping effect from the front wheel. It should be a non-issue unless you’re hitting Bender drops with Bender technique in the big 26

Does the chainstay kick out though? Like the chainstay has this weird link to the idler right? Does that link push the chianstay out to affect how the rear flex stay flexes and thus creates more growth? Like is it a reverse flex stay? Where instead of flexing open, the rear triangle flexes closed? Meaning the angle at the dropout...

For anyone who's curious what Weagle says about the Nighttrain suspension layout but doesn't want to scroll through IG comments, answering someone who asked about the design intent behind the bike: "Initially trying to gain a bit more mid corner traction on race bikes but as I hated [typo?] on the idea more and more I began to appreciate that it solves a lot of other issues. Definitely not an immediately intuitive benefit for me, it grew on me. In the end it turns out that by the numbers and by seat of the pants human pedaling a bike, this...

I can guarantee they won't be able to show a single graph though (like for axle path) because DW think's he's the Wizard of Oz or something and no one can see behind his magic curtain.

TeamRobot, always love your input and questions on all the forums so I'm stoked to get to chat about this. So, lets start with offering both wheels options. This was actually an internal debate as I'm sure it is with most brands. Ultimately we came to the conclusion that giving our customers the choice will always be the best option. There are people who are very opinionated on what they want and we want to try and give everyone the option they prefer. It's not always as easy of a task or cheap as people think but we want people...

Maybe I missed it, but watching the race I had no idea the jump was apparently closed. I thought people just figured out the b line was faster/better/more reliable? That said, what is the idea behind b lines? Like I assume that the purpose of a b line differs depending on where on the course it is. For instance you...

option 1: it's one line b/c the bulk of the loose debris was not removed/rake before practice making alternative lines virtually impossible as the piles of said debris littered the surface outside of the main racing line. option 2: they always pick the fastest way down the mountain and multi-line tracks aren't actually a viable reality except for a random move or two.

I think one of the largest "We're not in Kansas anymore" moments I had when I began working for a component manufacturer after years in bikes shops was when I had the insignificance of aftermarket sales explained to me. Don't get me wrong, every brand worth their salt is going to support aftermarket product bc why leave money on the table, but OE sales are king in the bike industry and ultimately OE sales drives every design decision. SRAM gets to push the convenience of full SRAM spec by limiting cross compatibility. For brands like Canyon, Specialized, etc., who are...

If you use a power meter to follow power-based, zone-oriented training and a <32t chainring allows you to do so consistently and repeatably, you actually don't need a power meter, you need to train...in a gym? Flawless logic.

I just want to back up the claims regarding wax. It's amazing. Clean and does wonders for longevity of a chain. I mentioned this a few times, I was on a ~yearly chain cycle before switching over to drop-on wax, the first waxed chain lasted well over twice what the ones before it lasted. All XX1/X01 Eagle chains on the same drivetrain. As the chainring and cassette were shot (cassette was missing two teeth on the 50T, front chainring was like an old grandma's mouth, barely had any teeth left), I didn't check the stretch. After retiring the bike, it...

Yeah I'll back this up as well, I switched to proper wax years ago and it's pretty incredible - the cleanest your chain will ever be, and its possible to have close to zero wear in some cases
