In the WBD B Line video after MSA, Finn’s comments about struggles this year and being able to get work in on the bike right after the season ended – now that he has recovered a bit – implied he is staying with Specialized.

The rollers of the T-type chains are larger making the effective chain pitch different from standard, that's what makes them technically incompatible with older cassettes/ chainrings. That said lots of "incompatible" parts work fine together. Ive been quite happy with my XO1 AXS derailleur and shifter with an XT cassette and chain for a couple of years.

It looks like that pivot snapped on the downtube first- in an area where you do get lots of rocks kicked up, so maybe it was damaged previously. On the other hand- it’s the downtube of a downhill bike- probably should be overbuilt. Edit- skip to 5 minutes: https://youtu.be/w5eMMf11uhM?si=Ed0-cZSZaSZxbBcZ

Quote from Nicolas: "My guess is that its either a manufacturing defect or the frame was previously crashed and weakened at the downtube." or third option: construction defect.

I've heard that Kolb might be going to Cube, would be fitting since its a mostly german speaking team and the bike seems to be working well.

Very curious! Doesn't seem large enough to have a huge air volume, but its possibly hollow to increase lower leg volume? They already have the tube-in-a-tube design to help with that, but maybe you can change the size of it for fine tuning? Tapping in to the air spring from there would be tricky unless they have ditched the buttercups

One reason might be to prevent flats. I've only had 2 flats in the past year and a half, but both were from breaking a spoke, which then pushed back through the hole in the DTSwiss rim and punctured the rim tape. Regular rim tape (stans, mucoff, etc) isn't good against spoke impacts, but it doesn't leave residue when you peel it off like Gorilla tape. If combined, you get no residue, but also better resistance against spoke punctures.

Nothing really new here, but EXt working on some "normal" looking mud gards! Hope that fox offers a similar one in the future. Gives the USD fork kind of a more "normal" look. (I say normal just because im not used to USD forks in mtbs, but they do look good)

I'm working on my own lap timer iOS app and handlebar mounted bluetooth button called Cyclaps. The bluetooth button mounts on your handlebars and communicates directly to the Cyclaps app to start/stop timing and mark segment times. Just hit the button on your bars next to your thumb. It can be MUCH more accurate than any GPS and you can time anything/anywhere you'd like. The Cyclaps app can be set to record simple times or segment times. All lap times are recorded to a file on your phone that can be filtered and shared. Cyclaps does not use any data...

Peak bending moment occurs at the axle end of the seat stay. This snapping is unrelated to the flex stay if it's happening at the linkage end. Looks like it's a compression failure in the tube that wouldn't be fixed by adding.the bearing. Also given the brake mount location the actual angle change on the flex stay is negligible and the 6 bar description is more academic then actually measurable. That said I've not modelled the kinematic myself.
