Wow shredding. I feel like a Squamish edit from Brayden is necessary with all the slab line possibilities

The old one had 25 % apparently. This is a controverse topic, many companies shift back and forth. I believe for an aggressive bike something around 25%-30% makes sense. I am personally willing to trade a bit of occasional back wheel hangup for reserves and predictability. The latter is also controverse, many people argue that a linear bike is more predictable, that's not my view. In my opinion a linear bike releases travel more freely until there is none left, this can be an unpleasant surprise in compressions, overshoots/cases or if bump is more pronounces than expected. To me a...

kinematics of an XC bike (22% progressivity) yet showcases a (linear sprung) coil shock when a more righteously fit (progressive) air shock should be the stock option. $4,800 frame. ugly❤️

Saw a few posts mentioning ticket prices and a gate to watch the event. Not sure what it's like in NZ but Whistler Crankworx has always been free to spectate, it's streamed for free. I've heard before that most of these Red Bull events don't really make any money straight up from these events, but that they're all viewed as marketing. While I agree that riders should be properly compensated, I feel like it's up to the riders to market themselves better to help themselves make their living. They should be leveraging the fact they are in the biggest contests...

That part of the red frames from the 'release' show a part that is forged, bent into the U shape and the welded together at the BB and a couple other spots so It's probably safe to assume that Steber did weld those frames.

Dude, when the man said ”influencers”, he actually meant the people who PUT IN THE WORK and changed our bikes for the good, not some guys from YouTube, who turn some knobs and are all in for the news. Before there were influencers of today, followed on social media, the people who were influencing stuff were the ones who worked in certain domains, mostly behind the scenes, and used their work to change their respective industries for the better. There is a misunderstanding. Pilgrim and Boostmaster are probably nice people, but they are definitely not bike or suspension engineers, just...

Because you can make this shock flat or progressive, it has more capacity to balance the tune of any frame to suit terrain and rider preference. The HBO also helps mitigate the bucky problems that arise with air spring end stroke progressivity. This level of adjustment is handy for precise tuning, lighter or heavier hitting riders and in demo fleets.

Rode one for a year. Pretty solid, but with some issues; 1) Tons of seal drag in both the linkage and idler pulley. Everything is double/triple sealed and has quite a bit of drag. The rear end would not drop under it's own weight with shock and wheel removed. I took out some of the extra seals on the pivots and it helped, but still no where close to as free as anything from other mfgs (SC, Speshy, Trek, Transition, etc). But hey, seems like @TEAMROBOT likes lots of LSC/stiction. 2) The shock linkage sticks out below the BB and...

Virtually every shop I have ever been in: “We don’t have that at the moment, but we can order it for you.” I can order it too, and it’ll come straight to my house. I’m going to install it myself anyway regardless of where it was purchased. Why would I make a second trip? Complete bikes are the same. I’m going to go over your build with a fine tooth comb, so why wouldn’t I just build it myself from the get-go. I don’t understand people arguing so hard to support brick and mortar just because that is the long...

Just about every brand now sells direct, coming from a Yeti dealer and 10+ year industry employee, it's the way the industry has been going for years, you dont adapt you get passed. Yeti can offer a better retail price (getting below Specialized MSRP) and lots of Yeti customers will still go to a shop as that is just the type of consumer they are. Don't think it will be a huge difference in the long game

Sram making it difficult/ugly to not run the Reverb is a huge miss. Droppers are cockpit items, hugely personal and varying between riders. Locking someone into an $800 dropper with a shitty clamping mech and limited sizes is a bad call. They should've designed a single button pod with a removeable second button (ala Matchmaker) to allow either/or options depending on rider preference.
