race face going short on crank length 160MM CRANKS. Get shorty. Have you ever wondered if you’d benefit from shorter cranks? Along with reducing the chance of a pedal strike, shorter cranks can improve bike fit and alleviate knee pain, all while improving descending performance. You can now get the new 160mm length in our flagship Era carbon and Turbine alloy cranks. All cranks are covered by our Lifetime Warranty, crashes included. DEFY CARBON CONVENTION Let your cranks do the talking. Era is the strongest, stiffest and most durable carbon crank ever created by Race Face. One of the lightest...

"Center of the axle" is indeed what it says on their site. I think "top" of axle may be more accurate with the given numbers? Regardless, it lowers your pedal quite a bit. Between that and the big ol' openness under foot, I'd love to try them.

Some our local rippers / engineers came up with a very unique "axle-less" pedal. Machined here in Calgary, Alberta and testing in the rocky mountains. They use a big ol 6902 bearing for spinny duties. The pendulum (drop pedal) is super interesting. Void pedals (traditional flat) Pendulum pedals (12mm drop) "Our platform sits 12mm below the center of the axle. Most pedals place the platform 5mm or more above the center of the axle. This effectively lowers the rider's center of mass 17mm or more offering a significant stability, and control. During sudden decelerations, the pedal acts as a pendulum...

Yup. And they were told to not be a copy cat again before release but apparently ignored it. Copying arguably the best brake on the market and even doing improvements AND then iterating on them with more improvements is one thing. Blindly copying the most well known CNC crank on the market that is not even the best design for. A crank is just pure laziness... I was in the give the benefit of doubt camp before this release, now there is no helping them.

I heard a tech rumor that I made up about an integrated spoke tensiometer as a power meter. Didn't like your stats? Couple twists of the spoke key and you're averaging 300 watts! Strava warriors would've lost their minds.

Gonna need a link to more info about those wild spoked chainrings. Never have I ever seen that in bike history.

No riding for me this weekend, my new spokes didn't come in so I can't lace up a set of fresh cranks.

A process called Vapor Blasting. Found a shop near by that uses vapor blasting on auto and motor bike parts. reasonable price to right at $105 for the rear link, 2 brake mounts, and the fork triple clamps. I tried the diy stripping process on some spare test parts and it’s such a time intensive/pain of a process and the finish product was variable. the canoe blasting looks so good and more of a raw aluminum look vs chrome/polished. With the rear link i put some old bearings in there and put the bolt through and a washer and nut...

Vojo magazine posted a few new things here and there, regarding last Roc d'Azur: Including a few Polygon """protos""" : And more interesting, the Beringer ebike (we already knew about their mtb brakes, wasn't aware of the frame development) which is made from cast aluminium. As an absolutely-not-engineer guy I like seeing these kind of attempts on frame material, but some may have another perspective I guess... (regardless of kinematics / geo)
