Mr. P Added a comment about press release Seat Angle Got You Down? Never Fear, DROP BEST is Here (for Reverb)
8/4/2021 1:33pm This is a potentially good solution to buying an older used bike, sizing for reach and updating the virtual seat angle. Assuming the seat tube leaves enough room for a dropper.

8/4/2021 1:31pm I was looking for something similar a couple years ago to give an old bike a new lease on life. Anyone looking at this, you might look at other saddles first. The clampable section of the rails on saddles is significantly longer than others.

Mr. P Added a reply to OTF Fork Adjust
7/29/2021 8:42am I'll be the weirdo here, I have one on my single speed - the RS hydraulic push button connected to a basic Mission Control damper. I use it all the time. Almost every uphill and definitely when standing and mashing. I've ridden it enough to really feel the efficiency when engaged. So much so I use the "lockouts" on my...

Mr. P Added a comment about feature Specialized Stumpjumper S-Works Vs Stumpjumper Comp Alloy
6/25/2021 11:29am This write up is awesome! A true service for riders of all levels. "What is your jam and buy to that." I remember selling my used Specialized Enduro 26 to a younger guy, handed it to him on the top of Downieville, and we rode down together (me on my new 27.5, 26 killer ride). The smile on that kids face down the hill made me so happy, and helped me understand that fun is fun, no matter what tool you use. Thanks kid, for releasing me from "the latest trend" and pointing me towards finding my fun factor and...

6/25/2021 10:59am I thought Pivot was launching a new flavor of ice cream?
I think the new Range has a more polarizing look which might explain the chatter or it's just the use of a PF BB freaking everyone out haha! Nice use of vaporware by the way, had to google that

6/25/2021 10:56am It's not vaporware... my LBS had an XL C1 for one of shop employees before launch. It came with the same DT carbon wheels. Apparently, only the XLs and Larges were available at launch, not sure of the numbers, but mediums should be shipping in the next 2-3 weeks according to Norco. Also of note, a certain colourful bike website had an initial ride report and it was quite positive. Like Vital, they said they haven't had enough time with it yet.

6/24/2021 8:41am Cannondale launched a similar bike yesterday, with actual ride reports and information to a collective yawn, while this comes out, and is vaporware right now, and the comment boards are lit.
Norco marketing is killing it. Pivot take note. lol.

Mr. P Added a reply to MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation
6/4/2021 10:18am Haha! As a graphic designer, I'm quite sure the "hidden message" is what the viewer is bringing to that design. Read as, someone has "anal" on their mind and it wasn't the designer. That said, it is the graphic designer's job to vet the design to avoid issues like people who read "anal" in everything.

2/25/2021 3:25pm I can't help but think that the Top Fuel would have been a better bike to base this on.. Riders that would buy a Supercaliber are the ones usually the people with the most ebike hate..

I'm proud that the Vital MTB audience is full of engaged, dedicated, and experienced mountain bikers. There is also a blossoming community of new riders joining our sport and getting more serious about riding, which means trails get more used. I want you, the Vital MTB audience, to recommend trail advocacy groups that you support because you believe they're doing quality, thoughtful trail work in their community. Let's encourage new riders to support these trail groups, too! Thank you to all who give us great trails to ride! -gordo Reply with your recommended group and I'll update the list...

Mr. P Added a reply to I don't like the direction of modern trail building
11/16/2020 10:20am There are a lot of issues that go into building trails. A key one is the landowner and/or manager. If you don't own the land, you have to abide by their rules and regulations. Has to be x wide. Has to be x max gradient. Has to include x user groups. need x percentage mix of beginner, intermediate, advanced trails...
