11/17/2023 7:27am Big ebikes are fun. But lightweight ebikes are very similar to mountain bike fun. If a rider does not actively focus on getting the wheels off the ground, a lightweight ebike will be very similar to a mountain bike to them on the downs.

11/15/2023 9:22am I'd like to poke the "Magnified Axle Path" charts in the eye. Companies/media, please show charts that are more visually accurate, as a lot of charts have double to triple the rearward axle path in a line measured on a screen (chart is full width of page) - while actual rearward path might be a tiny 20mm.

In one of Neko’s original videos he tested with data and using the OChain. The only difference he saw was in dynamic sag.

This bike looks great! Skip 24 inch wheeled bikes, and go straight to 26. When the bike is "too" big for the child with the 26 wheels, the larger wheels end up comparable to a 29er on a shorter adult. Which is more stable and safer to ride for a typical small kid at their riding level.

I’m about 18 months in on a Rise H15. I can honestly say that I’ve not experienced any of the issues reported above. I may have just gotten lucky, but this would also be true of five riding buddies of mine who were all early adopters of this bike. The number one reason for those who chose to upgrade was the battery life of the 360wh carbon model, I find the 540wh of the H model sufficient for all but the longest days chasing buddies on full e-bikes. On those days I have to stay in boost to keep up...

This is not correct. The smaller battery of Rise and the motor only weight about 8 pounds. So take a 32 pound bike and add 8 pounds. It's not an Enduro bike.

That is a quality critique! I wonder if the updated 2023 version fixed the axle and plastic drop out. And the CS experience sounds not great. Though the Shimano motor clanking is on Shimano, and an experienced rider buying an under-specced bike is on them.

This is one of 2 palatable "super light" eBikes. Headset routing means about nothing when evaluating the entire package. You're clearly not actually looking at buying a SL ebike, just evaluating it's design aesthetics. I don't like headset routing. I don't even like internal brake routing. But I am looking to buy a SL ebike. And when one is about to drop many thousands of dollars, actual ride qualities puts headset routing in it's place of minimal significance. A once in a couple years issue compared to every ride issues.

"Testing shows that MaxxSpeed reduces rolling resistance by more than 25%" 25% less than what? That marketing statement has 25% more suck than a statement with actual information. Do better.

It does tuck into the frame more than the previous wildly expensive derailleur and still uses the override clutch feature to move when it contacts something. Should hopefully mean less derailleur strikes than before!

They are out there, the 2005 Specialized Enduro specced a derailleur guard. Does this look familiar? I can't post an image but Specialized did a similar thing in 2005 as Sram is doing today. https://www.mtbr.com/threads/crazy-new-enduro-derailleur-protector-on-s…
