In the damping and spring curves is a bump gobbling machine (very active), not a heavy hitter (support), that type of riding is a perfect fit for the 34. Want more aggressive trail? The Evo is for that. The 34 is a good and probably underrated fork.

It would be great if everyone cared about integrity of the sport as much as you, but as soon as you say it’s a race people go nuts. It’s not even about money either, how often have we all heard about 50+ year olds doping on the road or other disciplines?

It is lubed when new, so lubing it so early - no. I would be worried if I washed my bike with water often. In theory it could be ruined if you washed your bike with a hose after the first ride, and then it sat with moisture in the clutch for a month. The amount of rust that builds up is kind of crazy...so if you wash your bike and let it sit, maybe pop the adjustment access plug open to let it air dry inside. If you want a review of what we have seen in the shop regarding this drivetrain, I have it. Pretty much everything he described is accurate, but the rear derailleur has one critical flaw: The sealing on the guide pulley pivot/ clutch mechanism is sub par. At least 1/4 of the many xt 12s drivetrains we have sent out/ serviced suffer from premature corrosion in the clutch. It is so bad that sometimes the cage cannot return to its tensioning position when shifting to higher gears. Best case it causes very inconsistent clutch breakaway torque. You can identify it by...

Make sure your spring in between the pads is nice and stretched out really pushing those pads out and I have had people but the soft side of some velcro tape on the caliper right below the fins. Hope those tips help!

Nice that Yamaha is stepping into the market. They certainly have their MTB buzzwords figured out
That frame tho... seems very... minimal. Perhaps this is more of an "every-persons" eMTB? The pivot locations remind me of off-the-shelf frame bits.

I had a Mojo 3. The Fox shock was fine. Combined with wide rims and 2.6 aggro tires, it punched way above it's "Trail bike" status in rough terrain at speed. But that supple midstroke was not for huckers. A 5010 has a more solid midstroke to ramp up if your looking to huck your meat - but that also means more feedback in rough and fast terrain. Pick your poison. I'm now on a 5010.

Is it not even relevant if air escapes or not? The guage is a guide to get you to your sag number, then you fine-tune adjust based on riding feel and what you want. If the amount of air escaping or not escaping is consistent, the result should be the same. I would even venture that all guages are not equal as well. Regardless, I prefer to know that air is not escaping and do the air hose preload trick. Awesome video! So well done. The significant other "listening" had us rolling.

This makes me happy for all those mid-to-low-range mountain bikes! This range now has good suspension, good brakes, good wheels, good droppers and a good drivetrain. I hope the price of bikes are low to spread the fun.

Gamechanger, early to the game with long, slack and low! X wing frame made the chassis stiff, short stays for fun, nice and progressive sock rate. Pedaled like poo - low antisquat which was it's primary bummer. I had this exact model and the fork was a laugh as it had no compression damping - an empty cavity at the top of the fork :-/
