12/31/2025 9:02am From my knowledge, there are a ton of Chinese 30T 104 BCD alloy rings that are very similar to the Race Face one above, with threads in the rings themselves. I might even have some around, but that won't help you. What is of help, though, is that they are pretty easy to source and I am sure somebody already...

12/31/2025 8:49am I don't know where those prices come from, but I got a set of limited edition pink 350 hubs for 270 EUR. The DEG upgrade is around 100 EUR. I also plan on getting an HG cassette, because I',m building a DH bike from the parts I have around and a Shimano 10 speed transmission with road cogs is cheap...

12/31/2025 8:41am The PB editors' answers are boring as hell anyway... Regarding the answers, I predict: - someone will give Avinox some competition regarding a light and powerful E-bike system - entry level suspension gets better on more fronts (thanks, RockShox!) - more bang for the buck on lower end bikes: good geometry, better suspension, better brakes, decent transmission, mediocre wheels -...

12/31/2025 8:33am 1. Brands will start to move away from a high pivot platform especially on their enduro bikes 2. There's going to be a resurgence in the trail/all mountain bike category (120mm - 140mm) 3. Enduro racing will continue to fade at a World Cup level but will still thrive at the National level 4. DH Racing will continue to be an extremely compelling series to follow 5. More E Bikes from obscure brands 6. Bikes are fucking fun and will continue to be no matter what you decide to ride

11/18/2025 1:24am Hard pass. But best of luck to everyone that has a YT or is trying to get refunded or an actual bike that they ordered. Using Flossman as the centerpiece of your comeback press release is a wild marketing move.

11/15/2025 10:28am I felt this story in the marrow of my bones. I haven’t had your exact experience on the same wheel, but every part of your story I have experienced on one day or another. In a related story, last month I finally decided that I will never ever buy the small roll of tubeless tape or small bottle of sealant ever again. If I change rim size and have 30 meters of extra 30mm tape sitting around, so be it. Cannot afford the existential pain of having 6” too little rim tape ever again.

11/15/2025 10:28am 2 weeks ago I finally got around to having time to set up the new crankbrothers synthesis wheelset from vital fantasy (still so stoked thank you vital and crankbrothers). Pulled the tires and tannus tubeless off my oem set (which I can mount by hand without Tyre levers). Try to install them on the new set. 29r front goes on easy by hand. 27.5 rear is unbelievably tight to get the last little bit and needs levers to get on. Won’t hold air longer than 20min. Spray it with soapy water and it blows bubbles around the valve stem and...

11/10/2025 1:18am Great question, I guess I wasn't very clear about that. I was unconsciously thinking of a DH race when I said that, where I would always pick the full MaxxGrip setup front and rear for maximum grip, braking, and damping. For an enduro race, it would depend on how much flat and pedaling there was. If it was a very DH-style Enduro race I would lean towards a MaxxGrip rear, but if it had a lot of flat and pedal sections in the race stages (who cares what the transfers are like) I would be stoked to have the MaxxTerra.

11/1/2025 3:33am New article on Pinkbike on rumors shouts out the "sleuths on the vital forums." Haha. Main one of interest was that they listed Danny Hart off Norco as "debunked" and said they've talked to Minaar who debunked it.

10/28/2025 5:57am Polygon seems like a DTC brand in the US because they exclusively sell through bikes online here, kind of like how Ghost was only distributed through REI which made them seem like a cheaper department store kind of brand. Only being sold through an online store is functionally the same thing as DTC, even though they're not. If they open up their distribution to more shops Polygon would probably grow as a brand in the US, but untill then the only people who are going to ride them in the US are the people who bought a bottom of the...

10/27/2025 3:08am Dude, Polygon is not a direct to consumer brand, they have good prices because they are MAKERS of bikes, just like Giant or Merida. Polygon is being carried here in our shops and it is a normal relationship like with any other, with preorders bla-bla-bla. Of course it is stupid to suggest direct to consumer brands to a freaking bikeshop...

10/27/2025 2:58am From the horses mouth (aka one of the Shimano category leads at the XTR launch in Tucson, I think it was Nick), “there will always be a place for cable XT drivetrains.” So I think you’re good for the foreseeable future.

10/22/2025 12:36am Hello, here's my take: I'd do Polygon, as a value brand that offers a lot of bike for comparable little money. Then I find Norco interesting and on the rise and a brand that covers a lot of bases. I wouldn't have considered Norco 10 years ago, but their bikes intrigue me now, especially in the last couple of years...
