9/1/2024 1:32pm Max is like that with all the French racers though, he's basically been the Don as far as French DH racing goes for almost 30 years.

9/1/2024 4:05am Speaking of old, his former Global Racing teammate Sik Mik raced today. I haven't seen an interview of him as yet. We gotta hear from the legend.

Maxipedia Added a reply to Proper DH helmets
8/28/2024 1:23am +1, I am curious about that test too, especially owning both helmets. Otherwise, my D4 feels fantastic, but I haven's crashed on it (and I don't want to), so I can't exactly speak about it in terms of safety. It is very comfortable, but gives me some hamster cheeks. Before that, the helmet that felt most comfortable was the D2...

8/27/2024 5:05am That new cert, I think started in late 2022, seems best of both worlds as you said (the addition of rotational and low speed for MOTO is great) and i'd be curious which DH/Bike helmets could pass that cert. German Bike Mag used to do an amazing protection shoot out in the lab, with all the tests and then rank the helmets-not sure they do it anymore. As someone that has been to the lab to test helmets, some of the results are shocking of how poorly some do-I wish that information was public. I think Virginia Tech is starting...

8/27/2024 5:04am I've always been a fan of TLD, I've gone through maybe 6 of their helmets in my lifetime from the D2 up to the D4. I've unfortunately gone through a D4 and a Fox RPC in the last two years with both shells cracking. They both did their job, but the RPC seemed to transmit significantly more force through the foam and I felt the effects of the impact pretty heavily. The D4 on the other hand felt like the multiple layers of foam crushed in a way that slowed the impact significantly and I had no ringing in my...

8/24/2024 10:49pm 1997 GT LTS-1. I once bought one, but it turned out to be scam, as the bike was in horrid condition. I used it for spares. Saved me an STS-DH with a bad rear end. Mx

8/22/2024 4:18pm This is a perfect example for people looking to put together and/or finance small regional teams. Demonstrates that corporate sponsorship allocations happen early fall. If you're young & looking for support for your racing, submissions for 2025 should have been submitted & follow up phone calls completed by now. Dorval/Commencal is actually doing right by fans & riders to announce this now. Demonstrates to racers coming up that you need to have finances & in order by now to be remotely successful. They recognized early on financial limitations were an issue, didn't drag it out & will give their riders...

TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic Dakotah Norton Explains Why He's Riding 75mm Bars
8/5/2024 12:22am Here's a pic of Dak's bike with a normal set of bars last season on Intense. Just for funsies, let's say he's got a 40mm rise bar, an extra 10mm of spacers under the stem, an extra 10mm spacer under the top crown, and a head tube that's 10mm taller than his new Mondraker. That would be the same bar-to-ground height as his new Fort Bill setup with 80mm bars, but no one in the universe would look at this and call it "normal." You would do a double take if you saw this pile-of-spacers bike setup in the pits...

1llumA Liked a reply to forum topic Would You Be in Favor of a Universal Seatpost Diameter Standard?
8/2/2024 4:48pm There is pretty much only 4 size that you see across all bike categories (road to DH) for round seatpost: 27.2mm / 30.9mm / 31.6mm / 34.9mm and 27.2mm is barely used in MTB. I understand the point of 34.9mm for durability on longer dropper but weight creep up fast in that size. I think it's mostly the 30.9mm and 31.6mm that could be reduced to only 1 of the 2. 30.9mm is the better size if you need to shim a dropper in that size in a 34.9mm frame with a thicker 2mm shim compared to a 1.65mm thick...
