Jake and Dan just pulled the Dave Portnoy/Barstool move: sell out to the corporate goons at peak value, watch them tank the brand to within an inch of its life, then step in at the last minute to buy it back at pennies on the dollar. Kent is stoked to be rid of the sinking ship, while Jake and Dan now have the profits from the original sale to reinvest into the brand. Perfect! IMO they should bring back the 2000's styling and model names. Not many brands have been around long enough to go 'retro', but Kona has. Bring...

Glad I could help. Probably the only time my Polish skills will be of use beyond Polish borders. 😅 I was up on the mountain today taking in the action. Good times.

I'd like to super thank you for this. Wrote them down, practised a bit, looked them up to see exactly what they are, used them on the live. One of the most helpful things this week. Cheers! Mx

I was born in Poland, but I grew up in California....spent 40 years there. Now I'm back in Poland...as luck would have it....in Bielsko-Biała. For the past 3 years I've been riding most of the trails that'll be used at the event. Prior to that, my resume includes mostly Skegg's Point and Braille in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a run down Mt. Lemmon outside of Tuscon, and some Tapia Canyon (Castaic, California). I'm old and mostly ride motorcycles with MTB stuff peppered in here and there. Nevertheless, I think I have some unique credibility here. So if you will endulge...

From my understanding, he is not sponsored by them, but actually looks to be just using their product, as an upcoming company that he supports. If he was on their team, this wouldn't be announced on LinkedIn in this manner, let's be honest. Mx

That is very correct. Kathy is an amazing human, by the way, and probably one of the reasons why the Syndicate jelled so well for so much time. Speaking of Greg, I actually came here to point out a minor thing: Greg has been wearing the new Viris goggle brand that Bulldog, Atwill, Breeden and a few other athletes are...

Well… your point still stands except she basically came out of semi-retirement to do the Norco team with Greg. Which is equally cool.

Kathy actually left SC the year or two prior to Greg leaving, I believe. At least she had stepped away from managing the Syndicate.

Define "new". Brent basically whips up anything he feels like at the drop of a hat. He's probably got a dozen DH rigs he's built in the back that he just never bothered putting on the website. He's the California hydroform version of FTW in a way. Dude farts swingarms & sneezes linkage.

Any of them running 721’s with tyres cable tied on to stop the tyre rolling off after dinging them?

That is such a bummer, I really hope they can get backups. Frameworks is by far the coolest thing that has happened in mountain biking in a long time and I dont want it to lose any momentum.

going to sound like an old guy with no vision, but i just think that downhill mountain biking (or any competitive mountain biking) will always have a limited audience because of what it is. i prob feel that way b/c i've seen the audience size stay relatively similar over the last 25 years (i have no hard data on this, just personal observations from then till now). DH is inherently niche because it's difficult to access (as a participant or a live spectator), expensive and risky. add in today's challenge of social media networks/phones dominating eyeballs and time compared to...

Just a thought: I am the WC commentator for my country. Broadcast has been done today, on Monday, on something like a live replay. I am actually on my way back to my home town, from the main studio. I prepared for 10+30 riders for the finals, with info on bikes, team changes and what not. I think I ended...
