I find it very ironical and super hypocritical for somebody like the YT main guy to whine about ”discount wars”, when they basically were the ones who brought this aggressive pricing strategy to the market. Dude, are you for real??? I honestly hope everybody will be OK after this, but I can't remember all the direct-to-consumer brands being too sympathetic...

Friend of mine ordered a capra core 2 carbon for 3000 or so, order was „in progress“ for quite a bit, bike went further on sale for 2500, she cancelled the original order and then reordered for the cheaper price, bike arrived in a few days. I built it up and from my first impression it’s the perfect not-quite-beginner-anymore bike with good parts and upgrade potential for a killer price but I was also wondering how this could be economical when a similar spec from specialized is double the price.

It seems like the chaotic variable pricing from many bike industry companies is not really helping the industry and only causes confusion and often resentment from customers. Dumping massive overstock or a big end of the year sale is one thing, but pricing that jumps around month to month is not the same. For example, when PUSH released the 9.1 it was $2600. Earlier this year it was "on sale" for 2-3 months at $2000, currently the price is $2250. If a customer had bought one for $2600, only to see it for $2000 a week later, I imagine they...

As a former brand and product manager for a helmet brand, I had a coworker show me their new Speedframe pro a few weeks ago and what a friggin nice lid. Historically Fox lids did not fit my head perfectly, but this one fit me quite well and the attention to detail was pretty great. Nice work to the Fox crew on this helmet and congrats on the VT test score as well.

Here's a great one from back in the day when we were running 10 speed 11-36 cassettes with those tiny Zee short cage derailleurs. When you're running such a short derailleur cage, it's extra important to nail chain length when installing a new chain, because the cage is too short to pick up any extra slack. It was easy to have a loose and dangling chain in the 11 tooth cog, and easy to have too tight of a chain in the 36. So on the morning of a big ride, I replace an old chain in a hurry on...

Great question. This might be the best thread on Vital. I have so many to share, but a great one is showing up to a shuttle day with all my riding gear, a change of clothes, lunch, electrolyte drink mix, etc, but I forgot my bike. For everyone else that meant they got a designated full-time shuttle driver that day.

My best dumb wrenching move came from being too clever. I run 203mm rotors, and last summer I kept going back and forth between running a Lyrik and Zeb on the front of one of my bikes. The Zeb is 200mm native post mount so it needs just spacers for 203 rotors, and the Lyrik is 180mm native post mount. Well, I started out running an old 20mm adapter on the Lyrik with the spacers. At some point I got a 23mm post mount adapter for it so I wouldn't need to fiddle with the little spacers. I used it...

Can anyone with more info translate this news? Who is Chaos and do we think they’ll do a good job for Rocky as a brand? Vultures or not? I also assume this means Rocky headquarters will stay in the east.
